BEAUTIFUL scenery! We had the chance of taking so many picture perfect picture of Jamaica. You can see the cristal clear waters for miles.
Just wanted to add another dimension to the reviews of Lover's Leap. Besides just seeing the view and visiting the info centre, you could hike it: there is a trail all the way down to the beach. A friend and I went with a wonderful guide, Damian Parchment (he can be reached through Jake's Hotel in Treasure Beach as he has the bike rental business there.) It's not an easy hike, but if you are looking for a challenge it is worth doing. As an added bonus Damian brought us up there with bikes and we enjoyed the 10 mile/16km bike ride all the way back down to Jake's with a stop at the Lobster Pot in Great Bay. Damian can also arrange other hikes or bike rides and I would highly recommend his services: super nice guy, always smiling, but also takes good care of the safety of his clients.
My boyfriend brought me here on my visit to Jamaica and it was just wonderful ill never forget it! we had a tour guide who told us the beautiful story of why it was named lovers leap and how beautifully tragic a situation had become ...the time of slaves
We liked the view but we didn't like to pay to see that view LOL But the road from Treasure beach to go there was nice (bamboo avenue)
The tour lasted only 12 minutes, and we felt like we missed something at the end. but the view is awesome!
We loved the views of the coastline the tour was informative and the tour guide was very friendly. We spent about an hour here it was worth the time. Not recommended for people with a fear of heights.
My husband and I visited Lover's Leap during our road trip around Jamaica. Beautiful view from balcony. Make sure you see the "rasta palm".
Words cannot describe this view. Bar was open and the Red Stripe Beers were cold and refreshing. Sip a few while enjoying this breath taking view.
Most spectacular view... for me just being there with an amazing individual was all I really need. For me the trip was about having the experience of simply being there.
We visited in a rental car, on a wet afternoon, attracted by the story of the two slave lovers who preferred to jump to their deaths rather than be parted by their owners. It did not seem a long drive, when studying the map back in our hotel room, but there are few signposts in this part of Jamaica and it took us longer than expected to reach the destination. The roads are narrow and twisting with potholes of various shapes and sizes. As others have said, it is a fairly desolate spot (particularly in driving rain...) and it is the romance of its history that may make the tricky drive there worth your trouble.
Sweet views and glad we went, but there isnt rally much to do there and the staff wasnt the most welcoming.
Splendid ..Lovers Leap is a sheer 1700-foot cliff overhanging the sea.. for all lovers worldwide.. exceptional view.. need a car rental to Lovers' Leap sparklecarrentals.com jamaica
We visited lovers leap on a bit of an overcast afternoon, but the views were still stunning, especially appreciating the drop to the ocean below. Managed to find it quite easily after a few helpful directions!
The tourguide at Lovers leap was very well informed....she related the story of the tragic lovers with all the right inflections. I wanted to cry but my breath was taken away by the view....hundreds of feet above the sea....the expanse of the beautiful blue caribbean sea going on for miles till it seemingly meets the blue skies....just breathtaking!
When we went to Lover's Leap with our guide Kenney the building was closed, but "No Problem Mon". Our guide went to a private house just to the East of the building that you typically view Lover's Leap from and asked the residents of the house if we come on to their property to view Lover's Leap. They agreed, so we drove through a small field and saw this amazing view. It almost seems the sky and sea combine together as one. It was a great spot to view from since we were the only ones there. Absolutely a magnificent view!!
