My husband and I and a friend , attended this amazingly beautiful venue located in the city of Brantford Ontario in December 2014, to see Blue Rodeo and what an amazing night. The Sanderson Center is a work of art with its Art Deco design and absolutely amazing acoustics. While sitting in the balcony I was in aww with the fresco ceilings that surrounded us ,the attention to detail. We have been to a few venues in Toronto but none had the wonderful accoustics as the Sanderson Center. I have attended many shows here in the past 8 years and will continue. I recommend to anyone to attend this venue if you have the opportunity.
Went to see a concert, it had great songs from musicals from South Pacific etc, at the intermission we had lots of nice goodies to eat
The renovation of this theatre has been fantastic. It feels like you have gone back in time. The acoustic are fantastic. We have enjoyed many event there and hope see more in the future.
Beautiful facility, great shows ahead. In down town Brantford close to restaurants. Ample street parking.
You MUST see this superb theatre.Dates back to 1919, the appearance alone is worth the visit!Shows are first class !
I love going to the Sanderson Centre for musical shows, plays, orchestras etc. I love the décor and the feeling of walking into a great old theatre. I bet when the renovations are done it will be even more awe inspiring. The acoustics are wonderful so every seat is a good one. Enjoy!
This theatre is in the centre of town with lots of parking close by, the performance ticket pricing varies with the entertainer but is very reasonable for live theatre. The seating is all good, the sound and light system does justice to this historical building which now hosts many headliner shows. You don't have to travel out of town to see a good show
Wonderfully restored turn of the century theatre. Unfortunate that all the shows performed there do not live up to the architecture.
Old scenic insides, nice place to see a live show. Located in the University area of Brantford. in an historic building. I would say downtown, but successive City Councils have destroyed that.
Went to see a terrific Comedy show here. The lobby was a too small for the waiting crowd, but the Centre was immense inside!Even if you get the chance just to tour the Centre, it is worth a peek as it is a truly beautiful historic throwback to the golden age of the Odeon. My sight-line was good and the audio was fine. The seats even had flip-up snack trays! When was the last time you saw that? However, I am allergic to mould and the STENCH from inside the theatre hit me like a 10' high wave as soon as they opened the doors to the the theatre from the lobby. The smell reminded me of below ground level rooms at resorts in the Caribbean that have been flooded from numerous hurricanes.I was at the Sanderson Centre at a time of the year when it was chilly and not humid, so it had nothing to do with the weather in Brantford. You just can't get that smell out, but I sure hope they try!
We heard from a friend about the play Calendar Girls and that she would have a part in it and would be playing in the sanderson Centre. We got tickets and both my wife and i are from Paris and as kids attended Saturday matinees in the old Capital Theather. We had not been downtown Btrantford in years so it was a treat to head down and see the inside of that beautiful building. Thanks for keeping it in such great shape.
Attended a great Jazz concert here. It was our first time at The Sanderson and we were very impressed by the fabulous restoration. There isn't a bad seat in the house, the acoustics are great and the décor makes you feel like you are in a turn of the century grand theatre. Washrooms and facilities are clean, updated and well laid out. This is certainly a venue that Brantford can be proud of. We certainly look forward to our next show or concert.
We have been to two concerts there in the past couple of months and the sound is fantastic. The prices are also the best I have seen. You can see the stage no matter where you are sitting.I wish there was more parking, however we have gotten there early and have parked very close.
I won tickets to see this concert and it was fantastic! Great venue with seating set up so everyone can see and small enough to not feel overwhelmed with people. Small and intimate and great sound! There is a bar for those wanting a drink before the show, we just bought bottles of water which you are allowed to take in with you but not the alcohol beverages. Look forward to seeing a show in January that we purchased tickets for. Lots of restaurants near by for those wanting to dine before a show.
I remember going here as a child over 40 years ago when it was the Capital Theatre. It has since been beautifully restored. A friend of ours actually rented it for his son's wedding reception. Only drawback is parking is not as plentiful as one would like.
