Animals you don't normally see, like beaver, porcupine, otter, wolf, moose, reindeer - all up close and personal. Not very large but a nice setting just a little off the freeway

Beautiful beach to spend time with family or take a book and relax, either on the beach or take in the view from above while sitting under a tree.

This is my favorite beach.. You park then walk in to picnic tables that are well spaced apart. There is a camping park there too beside the picnic park. It has a different driveway and is separate from picnic area. The beach is a beautiful, clean beach. We stop in pictou at the waterfront, get an ice cream and head to the beach to sit and watch the ocean.

This beach has got lots of beach front to walk and swim you can walk all the way out around Munroes Island.Very large picnic area for running around or hosting lots of people. At low tide you can also find sand dollars but please only take the ones that are no longer living.

Caribou-Munroes is a lovely provincial park campground situated on a stretch of beautiful sandy beach on the Northumberland Shore - I think the beach is about 3 km long. All sites are unserviced; i.e., no water or electric, and generator hours are 10am to 8pm. There is a single dumpstation with a hose for doing a black tank flush. Loop A is open and has the best views of the water. The other loops are wooded or partially wooded. Most, if not all, sites have firepits. Wood and ice are available ($). The washrooms are very clean and there are free hot showers but no laundry facilities. There is free wifi available in a covered area with electric outlets next to the office. The campground is easily accessible from the PEI ferry and the town of Pictou, complete with a Sobeys, Home Hardware, and Tims, etc. There is a gas station with diesel a few km from the park entrance. If you like relaxing on one of the nicest beaches in Nova Scotia, this is the park for you.

Beautiful campground with nice size lots, great place for kids to bike. The beach is amazing. My husband and I camped with our two young boys and the only issue we had was the security was quite strict. We were sitting by the campfire telling ghost stories and were told to be quiet. Apparently quiet hour is 10:30 pm even on weekends which we thought was quite ridiculous. People a few sites down even had the cops called out for being noisy and we couldn't even hear them. I think if quiet hour was midnight, like most campgrounds, it would have been a more enjoyable experience.

The weather was not very cooperative but we did enjoy a long walk on the very large beach. The ocean was calm. We also enjoyed a picnic lunch while we where there. We did have a hard time finding the beach.

we booked site 94, and were pleased. it is tucked away in the trees, and you can only see people on one site. We rarely even saw people pass in front of our site due to the way the roadway runs. it was awesome. The grounds are very clean, and the beach was awesome. I was even impressed with the check in office, as it was nice a spacious, with a library of books to borrow. the ladies seemed nice, and imformative. This was our first visit, we went on other peoples reviews, and we will return again, as it was a pleasant stay. :)

Beautiful place for sure, but there was too many rocks, spiders and black flies on the beach. The park is small and great and the only 2 showers were very good.It is a great location: you are 2 hours from either Hallifax or PEI.Pictou town is very cute and has lobsters everywhere.

if you are in Pictou County or going to or from the Caribou/Wood Island Ferry make a point to visit this park. Be sure to watch for the tide coming in

WOW ..what a great beach. Spent a week playing in the sand and water with my grandkids ( 4 and 8) ...a splendid beach for kids.We have been home for 3 weeks and my grand daughter (4 years old) informed us that she was ready to go on vacation to the beach again !! So is Grandma :)

i was travelling alone, but noted that this would be a great place to bring kids ... lots of play area for running and playing, in sun or shade. The bathroom/shower areas are very bright, thanks to large skylights, and there's some nice murals that soften the whole "campground bathroom" experience. The water was nice and hot too.

I have lived 45 minutes from the beach park and never was there before todayThe park and beach is lovely and is just down the road from Pictou LodgeNext time I go I will take items for a picnic as well as a swim suit as the water was calm and looked refreshing

Caribou is a provincial campground without power, sewer. It has a dump station and several taps to get water for camper. It has many sites with lots of shade and privacy in a wooded setting. Loop A has several sites with ocean views which book quickly. It has a fine beach and the park is family friendly. Highly recommended.

We visited this park as part of our drive around Pictou. There is one entrance onto an unpaved road, so take it slow. The park is relatively small, but has a very good view. From the parking area, there is a large lawn studded with picnic tables and trees. Several families were there eating lunch when we came through. There were also several people bringing their dogs through. From the grassy area there is a nice overlook of the beach and water. You can access the beach via a couple of graveled/grass paths. There is a lot of seaweed washed up onto this beach, but it has a lot going for it. The slope of the beach into the water means that you can do some wading without getting submerged. Due to all of the seaweed, there were a number of bugs here. This is kind of to be expected in the summer on the beach, but still noteworthy.
