Casino advertising "Asian-themed" buffet to celebrate Chinese New Year. The lineup was long, in part because demand just about matched seating capacity, and also because, when we reached the cashier, she left, located a table, returned to take our payment, then escorted us to the table.Buffet choices were minimal. Rolls and butter; iceberg lettuce / romaine lettuce and a small selection of vegetables; chow mein noodles; rice; stir-fry vegetables; beef stir-fry (with different vegetables); deep-fried basa (a species of catfish); fried shrimp; and roast pork. The salad bar was poorly arranged; I'm 5-foot-5 and had to stand on tiptoe to reach the items in the back row. Stir-fry veggies were under-done, as was the basa, and the beef in the stir-fry was overdone.Soft drinks and soft ice cream are serve yourself, no problem - except that glasses and cups seemed in short supply. I had to ask for an ice cream cup - the server brought six, which meant they would soon run out again. At $18, very poor value for money and I won't be eating here again.
I went to this place only 3 times, went dancing in there. They have the casino in there as well. I enjoyed the place and it is spacious in there. come and explore Starlight casino today!
Went there for a Christmas party with work. Got a plate of cheese and crackers and first bite of a digestive had me spitting it back out in my had. Not just a little off, it took a couple of minutes to get that taste out of my mouth. Chef never apologized just came out and removed the offensive crackers and apparently put the rest of them back out. Rest of the food was okay but not stellar. When dessert time came for us there was hardly anything left. 3 of the 5 cakes were gone, only because we asked for another to be brought out, or there would have been only the one there for us to 'choose' from. Also the entertainment was not that great. Male lead sang everything off his iPad. Some songs were barely recognizable they were so badly played. Lots of people dancing and having fun but not because they played great, but they were better than nothing! As I said, far from impressive and with better venues around we won't be back, nor will we recommend it to others. The casino in Richmond is so much better all around.
It is a large and versatile place. It has almost every game of chance you could imagine. The slots are very popular with most people. They vary from 1 cent to 1 dollar machines. There are several varied poker tables, and other games of chance. There are also several restaurants, and all of them are well attended. There is a large buffet every day of the week as well. The food is excellent. The staff is very busy, but they are as attentive as possible.
iMy sister arrived from U.K ,she want to check out the casino ,and five of us ,,went along ,at the week end ,they have the live band ,great place to go for dancing ,the space is little small for Casino, nor like Richemond !or Coqulam!but the Buffers it is so bed ,I only have the salad ,the roast beef is so dried ,you better eat it with your hand !the staff looks like they do not want to be here !over all, all the money they spared in the buffet ,new dinning room ,new staff, what a waste! Over all ,it is o.k. Place to go !
Wonderful place to dance the night away on weekends, the live bands can and will play all your favorites, the new match restaurant has some of the best desserts I've ever had
Recently my wife and I had the misfortune to eat at the buffet in the Starlight Casino in New Westminster. We were attracted by the offer of $10 of slot play for eating at the buffet which, as it turned out, brought the net food cost almost down to a reasonable value for money. We have eaten at a lot of buffets in the US and locally so have some idea of what we are talking about.Let me start off by telling you the good things:1. The soft drinks were good.2. The ice cream was good. Now let me tell you the bad things:1. We were not shown to a table as we have come to expect at EVERY casino buffet we have ever visited. We had to look around until we found a table that appeared to be unused and then had to wait until somebody cleared the debris left by the previous patrons. You have no means of marking a table as in use so one of us always had to remain at the table in case somebody else took it.2. There were no cups for soft drinks and nobody to ask.3. Much of the food selections always seemed to be empty - the kitchen staff were unable to keep up with the demand (which was not that great).4. At times there were no clean plates.5. At times there were no clean forks and plastic forks were put in their place!!!6. Hardly any of the food items were labelled as to what they were - you put out a menu in the lobby so why not put labels on the food. I took one item that looked like a mix of green beans and pickled peppers but it was definitely not so I left all of it.7. When we went up for prime rib we both had to wait for several minutes while the staff member was doing something else. All in all this was a horrible dining experience and VERY poor value for money. This one was $18 and I have had better buffets for $6.95. and in actual fact the $2 buffet they used to offer at the Nooksack Northwood Casino just across the US border was far superior to this. The only casino buffet that I have been to that was worse than yours was at the Riviera in Las Vegas, where I demanded my money back because the place smelled awful (at least this place smells OK).This place is awful and I do not recommend it to anyone.
