Admission is free, but there is nothing in English. Most rooms had multiple photos and displays of famous Ecuadorian musicians. Interestingly, there was only one woman in the main rooms. However, there is one large room where the walls are filled with female musicians of all sorts. It is telling that this room is the dining room for the cafeteria with the kitchen adjoining it.

Worth a visit even if you've never heard of the local musicians here. A tranquil spot to spend an hour.

A lot of photos of famous Lohano composers and musicians. A few music c album instruments on displays. All around the pretty courtyard we could see musicians practicing their art. It is free, so worth a look.

Loja is known as Ecuador’s city of music. The Museo de la Musica displays musical instruments, notes, pictures and awards of nationally famous musicians from Loja. It is open Monday to Sunday from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Admission is free.The museum is housed in an old colonial structure and the architecture is interesting in and of itself.The Symphonica de Loja has their offices and rehearsal hall in the back part of the museum. If you are lucky you can visit the museum and also hear the symphony rehearse .
