This main street of Bansko, primarily a ski resort proved very "unfriendly" to the town visitors following few days of consistent snow. We had to walk either on the street risking being hit by passing cars or moving through slushy trails of snow on the pavement which nobody seemed willing or trying to clear. For seeing many ski equipment renting stores and the rest offering more or less the same merchandise (mainly all kinds of hats and head gear for children) it's not worth it- definitely not after a snowy day- and mind you this is a ski resort.! Unless you are a die-hard party goer and look for the nightly bar scene- the cozy hotel lounge is a better alternative.

The buildings are lovely and traditional with a true Bulgarian/European feel to the street. We went both day and night, and it looks lovely and like a Christmas market in the evening - with lots of cosy fairy lights. The area surrounding the church is particularly warming.Lots of souvenir and ski equipment shops - which did not interest me at the time - more local and fashion shops would have been appreciated. The biggest downfall is there are more than 30 pubs/restaurants (mehana's) on the street and therefore a lot of competition with the locals to get the tourists in. There is a member of staff standing outside EVERY mehana to get tourists inside, this is very off-putting to me and ended up not going to the places we wanted to go due to the pressure off the locals doing their persuasive job. We avoided the street as best as possible in the end - as you couldn't even look in a window without getting hassled.

I like the feeling and the local atmosphere of this street. Sops werent exactly my taste but I suppose people like defferrent things and Bansko is a resort.

the best place to go and buy ski, snowboard, boots, blinding, poles helmtes etc and all the equipment you need for your winter sports at the best prices...for example the price for some helmets start's at 25euro, full chest protection from 40 euro

A nice walk on the Pirin street takes you through typical Bulgarian shops. Worth while checking the sweets shops, the shops with soaps and creams made of roses. The mehana's are nice. The general atmosphere is a typical Balkan one.

We failed on our visit until the last day to fully walk down the street to the church and town square. There are much nicer places down at the bottom of the hill - make the effort and walk on beyond the new bits!

That street has a lot of shops where the tourists can buy souvenirs. It didn't appeal me and if you see it once is enough. The prices of the souvenirs are not so low as many say.

Pirin street has a huge amount of shops. Ideal for souvenirs, and plenty of Mehanas and bars. Close to most of the hotels.

A very nice narrow street with plenty ski/snowboard shops, local taverns (mehanas') and souvernir shops.

Pirin Street is the main street for skiers in the new part of Bansko and full of restaurants, shops and bars - a very entertaining area and looks lovely at night when everywhere is lit up!!

Some fabulous little shops and outstanding mahanas in this street but slightly spoilt by the above. Bansko has such a lovely charm and some of the older buildings are stunning and every mahana I went into had it's own special atmosphere and I never had a bad meal in any of them. Pirin Street was only spoilt for me by the sex shops adverts for go go dancing clubs strip shows and British pubs. I'm not a prude but please don't let Bansko become like some parts of Spain.

Actually, all was said in the title :) It is nice to go for a walk there, enter various pubs, coffee shops, stores, small shopping center; they even have few go-go bars and erotic show bars. People are very friendly, prices are very reasonable, wide choice of souvenirs... Good place to relax after entire day of skiing.

Nice area for shopping & eating, nice restaurants, good food and interesting shops for antiques and souvenirs ...
