This is a truly iconic building - unusual architectural design with great view of harbour area from 4th/5th foors (free entry). Spectacular at night when lit up in a blue/green/red/yellow rippling effect representing the northern lights.
A rather imposing building which is free to enter and great for photos of the harbour- you can walk up the stairs to the top.In the evening the glass changes colour so can be seen from a distance
Amazing architecture. Looks impressive from in- and outside. Worth visiting just to have a look.......
It is free to go inside and view this magnificent building made of glass. It is such a unique building and well worth walking around. They have a nice little shop with souvenirs.
The Reykjavik Information Office called this the crystal building, and it does look as if it is made from giant crystals. It is a beautiful building and very much worth seeing. We went a bit mad on photographing it, as there are so many different aspects, lights and angles. The views to the outside harbour are also very good - especially useful as it was minus 5 degrees when we went there. There is a good cafe and a gift shop inside. We were there for a couple of hours, and could probably have spent more time sitting sipping coffee.
The building itself is very impressive and you can climb 5 stories to get some incredible photos but it was the architecture of the building itself that intrigued me. The angles and materials used presented a creativity I have not seen before and which fascinated me. There is a gift shop on site which was filled with lots of lovely Christmassy things but I did not attend any event to report on.
As alluded to above, the building itself is impressive in its construction and perhaps looked even more impressive in the fading light. We booked ourself onto a cinematic experience to sample what Iceland had to offer but it was most underwhelming. We were shown to a cubic room with screens on four sides but didn't appear to be in sync with each other. It certainly wasn't seamless. The film lasted around 10 minutes and in the circumstances was the best possible thing. The in-house restaurant was lovely with superb staff. The selection of food was most appetising. We, of course, went for the seafood options. The Icelandic Herring was delicious. The dessert was superb too....I'd recommend the cheesecake. The food was served on these wonderful wooden serving boards carved from christmas trees.....I want one!
An imposing building by all means with huge glass walls built in a unique architectural plan with wall going up from the ground at an angle. Sunset and sunrise are beautiful at this spot!
well organized orchestra, excellent music. Very orderly and on time presentation. all was excellent. very friendly people in and out the concert hall
terrible building and it's just too pompous and snobby. Give this a miss! Suppose if you were seeing a concert maybe !
We paid for a tour of this visually stunning building. It is free to enter and wander around. I would suggest the tour if you are interested in acoustics .The story behind the building is fascinating.mit is an adult attraction I would say.
Amazing building that glitters in the sun. Didn't go to a performance but did go to the gift shop and bought some things. There is an amazing sculpture statue out front of a guy playing a violin.
I tried to find this place after reading the review because I'd like to see the sun rays through the glass. But I couldn't.I think the photos of this place looks like Harpa building.
Especially beautiful when you are inside during the sunny day. Sun rays going through glass are playing a symphony of colors. So picturesque.
Probably the most unique venue in Iceland. Made out of glass with colored panels. The tour is a must!
