We had hired car and parked way outside the town and walked in- we asked Tourist information girl about taxi's and the kind girl called one for us and we waited outside, it never arrived but spotted a taxi rank nearby anyway so got one quickly- still `I always give top marks for good effort.- and they provided free coffees while we waited- thanks again...
On my visit to Reykjavik I visited several of the tourist information and found them all really helpful with lots of booklets and leaflets to help you sort out your trip. They are also very good at helping contact tour operators and sorting it out.
All the excursions available and very helpful staff. More than capable of advising on what to do, who to do it with and also booking it,
Pretty good if you want organised trips or to buy a tour somewhere, not so good if you are an independent traveler with a car that wants to make your own way. Staff were nice enough but not an attraction on it's own so I have marked it as 1 star only.Visited February 2014
The service lacked a little enthusiasm, most trips we were interested in seemed to have very few options. The assistant seemed to have decided for us before we arrived, and provided no real alternatives. However I did feel we had the best value for money, but without comparison at the time I'd rather not look.
Not a good source of information, we received very confusing directions. We got the impression we were bothering the member of staff on duty.
This is and should be the FIRST place to get information on iceland even though you may be going on a tour. The staff there is very knowledgeable and can adivse you accordingly. They have all the brochures and maps that you ever need and most of is is free.
The center was organised and quick at dealing with the busy ques but think they may need to expand soon!
My wife and I went here to get an idea of what we were looking to do in the area. We met a guide and took a food tour. You can get free maps and see every single tour that is available in the area. I highly recommend.
The tourist office in the center of Reykjavik had very helpful staff, lots of information and it is where if you have a voucher you exchange it for tickets to let you in to some attractions for 24 hrs for free. The office was very warm inside.
Friendly personnel, amiable that help you surf the different choices without pushing for any in particular. Since they are not set with one or 2 compamies, but many more, they are able to provide you a wide variety of prices and alternatives. They definitively are knwoledgable about about the offer Definitively a first step for you to go if you did not plan the attractions before arriving
The staff in the information centre are simply wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble, & they will help you with anything, from booking a trip to an activity, sorting out a hotel, or simply suggesting somewhere to go & eat. They are so friendly.Hope this helps
Great! Good information and unusually, at least 4 in the town! Helpful staff made it easier to ensure we fitted in all we hoped to do
Very helpful I setting up day trips - a must to really learn about the country. Liked the friendliness, ease of access, reasonable prices of recommended vendors.
Went to the Tourist Centre to collect "Welcome Tickets" which were part of our package. The Tickets allow entry to some great attractions and cost around £15 for a 24 hour period - great value!!!The staff are all very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. If you want inspiration/help, then this is the place to go.
