helikon castle museum

We had just visited Fertöd (dubbed small Versailles) and I like this castle much better. It has a warmer feel, the library is beautiful, explanations well written everywhere so you can visit at your own pace. It is also called Festetics Palace by some people: it is the same place. It has several other museums (coaches, trains, ...) besides the castle itself (furniture).

This castle is set in the town of Keszthely on Lake Balaton. The Castle is set in parkland. You can enter the parkland for free and wander around taking in the view of the town , the fountains and the trees. Helikon Castle is really a grand palace. There is a museum complex of four buildings and here you will find five exhibitions. In the Coach House there is a wonderful exhibition of carriages and one can have a ride around the estate in a horse drawn carriage too. One of the wonderful features of this palace is the historical model railway exhibition. .The palace now belongs to the state but was own until WW2 by the Festetics family who still have apartments in the building. This castle (or palace) is a treat not to be missed if you visit Lake Balaton

This is not tobe missed if you're in Keszthely. The castle is enormous and grand in every sense. There ar various kinds of combined tickets. I bought the one for the castle and the coachouse.. The grounds are extensive and delightful. You can wander outside for free!

I am not sure how many museums fall under the category of "Helikon Castle Museum" but on our visit we went to three different museums that were all included in our admission ticket to the castle.The carriage museum is a superb collection of old horse-drawn carriages and I doubt that you will find a better collection anywhere.The hunters museum, which definitely goes against the grain as far as I am concerned, is nevertheless an astounding collection of stuffed animals from around the world, and it is all impressively designed and laid out.The model railway museum is exactly what you would expect and is a very large and well built model railway system.Put them altogether and you certainly have an excellent attraction, particularly as there is also the castle and gardens to visit (see separate review).

The Keszthely Historical Model Railway Exhibition is a delight for all ages. If you are into model trains, you will love this huge mountain railway layout with its 75 trains running on 2,700 meters of tracks surrounded by 1,800 buildings. Even those who are much less interested in things miniature and are brought along to see the exhibition by a model train fan will be intrigued by the many scenes which are recreated here with amazing detail. It is on the top floor of a new building which also houses the Hunting Exhibition. Both are part of, though across the road from, the main Festetics Palace and Helikon Castle Museum complex.

Очень красивый замок и территория замка, отличное место для прогулок. Заезжали после посещения о. Балатон и остались довольны. Около главного входа есть кафе, где можно выпить кофе и перекусить. Экскурсию брать не стали, просто гуляли и наслаждались красивыми пейзажами.

Красивый замок с не менее красивым парком. На территории также находятся оранжереи, музеи (очень понравился железнодорожный), аквариум, водоемы. Отличный вариант для тех кто заскучал отдыхая на озере.

Можно почитать отзывы на "Дворец Фештетича" (Festetics Palace) - это то же самое.Очень рекомендую всем отдыхающим на озерах Балатон или Хевиз в качестве прекрасной прогулки по старинному и большому парку и дворцу (городок Кестхей). Вход во дворец платный, а по парку можно гулять свободно. Кроме этого на территории есть еще музей карет (есть комбинированный билет на два музея со скидкой), а также небольшой ботсад с оранжереей и большим аквариумом - детям будет очень любопытно. На территории парка озера с рыбками, которых можно покормить. Хотя и гуляли под дождем и промокли все остались довольны впечатлениями. Кстати, совсем рядом от центрального входа в парк есть небольшой музей марципанов - там чудное маленькое кафе - капучино с пирожными отлично пошли после просмотра марципановых чудес.

Ha valaki ismeretlenül látogat el ebe a történelmileg híres kastélyba nem tudja értékelni a környezet és a berendezés különlegességét. A volt tulajdonosok közszereplése irodalom és oktatás pártolása , a korban még számottevően nem elismerést hanem inkább ellenszenvet váltott ki.A látogatás zavartalanul a saját tempóban a felügyelők segítő támogatásával történt meg.

Честно говоря, я так и не разобрался- сколько там музеев. Насчитал 3 (железнодорожный, карет, походить по внутренним интерьерам) плюс ещё билет на территорию плюс ещё что-то. Вариантов билетов много, здание огромное, развлечений на всех хватит.

Замок 18 века. Хорошее место. Интересные выставки. Люблю железную дорогу, потому мне очень понравилась железнодорожная выставка. Очень удобно при посещении Балатона заехать в замок!

Великолепное произведение архитектуры,такое впечатление,что ты попал в те времена,очень хотелось зайти во внутрь.но было уже поздно,поэтому пришлось ходить по территории......она прекрасна,фонтаны, пальмовый дом с прозрачным озером,с огромными разноцветными гибискусами!! кареты запряженные лошадьми,захотелось одеть шляпу,раскошное платье и жить в те времена!!!

Wenn man in Keszthely ist ,sollte man das Helikonschloss unbedingt besuchen.Das sehenswerteste neben den vielen prachtvollen Zimmern mit Gemälten ist die Bibliothek mit über 50000 Bänden.

Il parco è un po trasandato come il castello, e solo una piccola parte è visitabile. Notevole e ben tenuta la biblioteca.

Прекрасное развлечение, кто приехал на Балатон или на озеро Хевисе. Пройтись по замку, удивиться огромной библиотеке, прекрасному вкусу хозяев. Но более всего впечатлила коллекция экипаже и их идеальное состояние - хочется в одном из них совершить путешествие по этой прекрасной стране.
