Probably one of the best preserved archaelogical sites in Greece. If you are interested in Kos history this is one not to miss. The site is very well maintained, plenty of signs on the site in several languages or you can purchase a booklet at the ticket office. It is best to go early in the morning before the coach trips arrive and heat of the day. Can be reached by public transport from Kos Town (Platanas bus).

Birth place of modern medicine. Facinating place to visit. It is a total ruin and best done with a tour guide.

One of the most important ancient place in the world. The first hospital in a history who Hippocrates gives to everybody medical services!

This place is amazing and so open to all. It's not expensive to get in, there is a lot to read and good info about the history, plus drawings of what it might have looked like. We were there early in the morning in November and had the place to ourselves. A Greek school party arrived a little later – such well-behaved teenagers, and so polite, it was good to see! Plenty of walking and nosing around to do, make sure you have shade and water (in summer) as it’s all open air. A fascinating place.We walked from Kos town, only 4k each way, and stopped for coffee in the village on the way back (very well priced).

Spent the day here, October was a good time not loads of children or visitors. (Saying that the children were all very well behaved). We have been to a few ruins over the years in Greece and the islands and think these are a very good representative of the historical sites. Everything is clearly marked and it is well preserved. It's definitely worth a visit, there is a very nice cafe for drinks etc. very rustic.

A great place to go and visit and only a small 2 euro price to pay. We cycled up and part walked from Kos Town well worth the effort. There is the little train from the harbour in Kos Town runs frequently, don't know the price. On arriving plenty of parking. Lots of cats and kittens at the entrance, some brought food to feed them. Two lots of steps to take you to the different tiers so not really disabled friendly. Lovely views from the top. Look out for the lizards sunbathing some quite big ones. There's a small museum with some ancient writing in stone and a video to watch.

Reasonable 2 euro entry, nice place to visit great views from the top of the what used to be the third terrace. Good idea to go on a guided trip to get its fully history. We travelled with V Tours.

a great bit of history and well worth a visit. we ended up here from one of the road trains from Kos town. Expensive if you do it this way. One shop trying to sell all souvenirs and over priced Definitely worth a visit though

despite we read some information we really did not expected such a huge place of 3 large grounds with lots of broken but beautifully carved pieces of ancient buildings and especially great view on the sea and neighborhouding islands. moreover, you can visit the museum with couple of ancient agreements and notes carved in stones in greek alphabeth. Asclepion is place very easily accessible from Kos town or you can visit is during drive through the mountains (do not follow main road but small broken one from Kardamena via Pili, Zia and Asclepion to Kos town).

I have been to the Asklepion four or five times previously and would gladly go back again.Worth a visit for the history, the views over Kos and the various assorted cats! Although there are steep steps up to the three levels there is a footpath to the left which winds up to the top. The path is quite well surfaced most of the way though more care is needed nearer the top.

On holiday in Kos so you have to visit this ancient site. At first it is quite awe inspiring, it is built on three levels and there are notices and a paper guide to tell you where you are and what you are looking at. The steps are pretty steep so not good for the elderly or infirmed or very young children.Be careful about the time of day that you visit as it gets very hot after about midday, early morning or late afternnon is better if possible.It is a fascinating site and amazing that so many of the pillars and structures are still intact, please do not do what I saw some teenagers doing, picking up stones and moving them to other areas, they have been there for thousands of years so leave things as they are. There are staff walking around the site keeping an eye out so be warned.Prices are very reasonable, we should have paid 12 Euros for three of us but only paid ten because one of our party came under the concessions tariff.If yop are interested in Greek history you will love this site. There is also a little snack bar for drinks etc and a few presents to take home, prices are a little higher than elsewhere.

If you're in Kos, you can't NOT go to see this. The view is amazing and it's well worth a visit. So much history!

If you like that kind of thing. Amazing history however if you just see this as a pile of stones you not going to get much out of it. Some people are like that.

Only €4 or €2 for over 65's. Make sure you get a tour guide to take you round. The information about Greek history related to Pharmacy and Hippocrates is amazing. The world has a lot to thank the ancient greeks for.

We visited this site as part of the 'Round Island Tour'. An active dig site with much more to be discovered. Our 'Blue Badge Guide' knew everything there was to know about this fascinating site. Just wish we had had more time. Constructed over three levels there is a circular ramp offering easier access for those that don't like climbing steps.
