It is just a park in a city. There are some small cages with monkeys or other animals. Interesting are the storks living on the trees in the park.
Who would expect to find lynx and monkeys in a park? And an impressive number of stork. Do as the French do and visit on a Sunday with the family. We saw many groups with picnics and guitars (and this was early March!). There is a rowing lake and skating area, as well as the animals. A great little place and free (apart from the petting area - for the donkeys, not the lynx!)
I went for a jog in the parc because that's where I heard the locals like to run. It was a cold and wet day but it was still so beautiful and photogenic. I walked around the zoo (it made me a little sad) but was impressed with the herons in the trees with their huge nests. I couldn't stop taking photos of those trees. It was so beautiful I can only imagine how wonderful it can be in the summer with a delicious picnic basket.
there is an excellent restaurant in that park, the only one, cant remember the name, really good and very pricey ,but worth every penny ;)
We loved this park, and especially the little Zoo. Such an unexpected bonus - especially the Storks, both those on the breeding programme, and the wild one nesting.
An oasis of calm all beautifully maintained and manicured. Even the lamp posts were ornate and made to look as if ivy was growing up them. There are many large water features, lakes, fountains and waterfalls and rills that naturally attract many swans and the eponymous storks that nest on the chimney tops. Even on a dismal December day the park was beautiful to walk around. it is well used by joggers, walkers and cyclists.
Beautiful park, whether by day or night when parts are illuminated. Plenty of green spaces, playgrounds, ponds and fountains and a small zoo and bowling alley. I regularly go running around here and am always discovering new things. Can't wait to make the most of it come the summer months!
beautiful park quiet and beautiful, playgrounds and merry go round (cars to drive) for kidsthere's a bowling too and a zoo
I have never seen a more beautiful and well-kept public park. We went on a Sunday and my only regret was that we didn't pack a picnic because everyone seemed to be having one and it was a perfect day for it.There were dozens of stork nests and they were all full of babies! It was so fun to see all of their little heads peeking out.Lots of water features, a lovely rose garden and even a library of free reading material.Great job, Strasbourg, on providing such a gorgeous place for everyone to enjoy.
I loved this place you should visit it the nature , the flowers , the fresh air , the lake and the zoo fascinating place with family and friends or couple
Great place to visit!!a big park with pond, swans and ducks everywhere! a dreamy place ! :) A lot facilities inside and a nice farm for the kids!!
Beautiful park, nicely designed, you feel like Joséphine de Beauharnais in that park, taking a stroll or a jog is fabulous. The animal park for the kids is not the best we have seen but ok. Excellent restaurant in the park. All near the European parliament.
Parc de l'Orangerie is unlike any other parks that I've been to - there's basically a small zoo in it! The park is beautiful and serene, had we known better we would have packed our breakfast or lunch there to eat! p.s. There is also free parking nearby, very convenient to get there if you're driving. I believe it's also walking distance from the city centre.
We all have parks. But I believe that there are not many places with a parc like this. Peacefull, well maintained, clean, with amazing lake with slopes and swans. Everyone should visit it, it is a must-see in Strasbourg
