café in den ouden vogelstruys

Me and my friend spent the whole Saturday here drinking, then around 4pm ordered some food, then carried on drinking. There is a good list of drinks to choose from, and the food list was good, we chose a kind of bucket of different things (hot) with various dips. The food was real good. The service was very good, you just put your arm up and they come and serve you. The staff all speak perfect English of course. However it is hard getting a seat in the first place, as everybody wants to sit there on a sunny day. Its nice to sit there chat, drink and watch the world go by in the nice view of the Vrijthof, of course you can smoke if you want to.

This is a great bar. Fine beer, good friendly staff. Oldest bar in Maastricht, I believe, full of character. Can't speak for the food although the menu looked plain and simple. Only thing that I personally didn't like was that the music got louder and louder as the night went on, eventually becoming too loud for me.

Nice staff, great location and really traditional ambiance. We have had lunch was ok, not great but good value for money!

Situado al frente de la Plaza Vrijthof este café - restaurant representa lo mas tradicional de estos estblecimientos, donde se combina la construcción y decoración con su publico.Pasar una hora en alguna de las elegantes mesas (no son muchas) y observar a los asistentes se daran cuenta que en su mayoría pertenecen a la ciudad y es gente de edad madura con vestimenta elegante.La atención de los camareros es simpática y el servicio es eficiente.Con el frío es recomendable la sopa de cebolla. Que a diferencia de otras lleva una cantidad de queso que forma una capa sobre el pan y gratinada. El sabor adquiere equilibrio entre el propio de la cebolla, el queso y el vino.Las croquetas de muy buen sabor aunque podrían tener menos tiempo de fritura.Excelente lugar que se debe visitar en Maastricht.

Evidemment, qui dit Vrijthof, dit prioritairement "terrasse".On y est. Mais, ce dernier café est le plus typique. Pas les prix. Ils sont comme chez les voisins...Pour le reste, cuisine un peu plus élaborée qu'ailleurs, sur la place.

Dit café moet je van binnen bekijken en als je er toch bent is het niet verkeerd om een Brand naar binnen te slaan. met een beetje geluk komen er carnavalsverenigingen binnen om iets te vieren.

Maastricht en het Cafe In Den Ouden Vogelstruys horen bij elkaar. Ben je in Maastricht dan moet je hier een glas drinken. Hier komt werkelijk iedereen, arm en rijk, jong en oud, lelijk en mooi, het is net een grote familie in het cafe. Bediening is goed en hartelijk, niet opdringerig en de prijsstelling is heel goed.

Aproveitamos o feriado de 3 de outubro na Alemanha e fomos de carro até Maastricht. Aproveitamos o fim de tarde para sentarmos no Café e tomarmos uma cerveja e apreciarmos a tarde ensolarada bem de frente para a praça. O serviço é muito bom e a cerveja deliciosa.Recomendo a todos.
