We decided to visit this monastery on our way out of Burgos and it was well worth the visit. A lovely quiet environment and a small museum where you are up close and personal with the exhibits. Well worthy of a visit whilst you are in Burgos.

Orbaneja is a quiet village in a quite valley surrounded by great mountains, amazing landscapes and very close to the river Ebro. Its beauty is charming and you'll never forget its cascade.

While touring through the Burgos region with friends,we spent the afternoon at this beautifulvillage,the waterfalls are stunning.On route we stopped to view the monastery el valle de manzanedo, well worth a visit,the ruins are undergoing restoration,we took the guided tour,really interesting.The views of the grand canon of spain(canones del ebro)are wonderfull, not to forget the localresturants for tapas,and local wine!.B. The view from this village is breathtaking. The rugged rock formations that line the valley are very dramatic. We have visited twice with kids and they always enjoy playing in the stream that runs through the village and ends in a lovely waterfall, and hiking up through and above the village where there are cows and traditional stone shepherd huts, called chozos. When it is open, you can go into a lighted cave in the center of the village. Very cool. Lots of climbing and stairs, so you need to be mobile.

I agree with the previous Spanish review, this village is lovely, and one of my favourites in this area. It has lovely winding streets crisscrossing the stream that runs (and falls) through it, coming out of the rockface at the top of the village. You can walk up above the cave and get a great view over the village and the canyon which it is in, with its rock formations. There are a few souvenir shops and bars with raciones, only a few are open all year (its fairly deserted outside of summer). There's also some interesting moorish architecture and windows. The only thing is that parking is pretty impossible down on the road on busy days. Something else we discovered just a couple of weeks ago near here is a walk just a bit further up the gorge just into Cantabria in a village called Villaescusa de Ebro. If you walk down river from the bridge (along the signposted GR99), after a few kilometres you reach the most incredible waterfall called El Tobazo, there's an info board and you can climb right up to the waterfalls different layers (it is possible to get right to the top where the water come straight out of the limestone cliff face), it's a bit of a climb, and I'm not sure if it dries up in summer, but we went in December and it was really spectacular! Impresionante delirio de la naturaleza. El pueblo acorde a lo que se espera de un lugar así. Sus gentes de lo más agradables y hospitalarias. Recomendado 100% para desconectar.

Nunca habiamos estado en una población que cruza una cascada y esta es. Esta pequeña población nos regala ese capricho de la naturaleza. Hay que ir.

El río Ebro, al atravesar la provincia de Burgos, ha ido generando una zona de cañones y meandros espectaculares. Muy cerca se puede ver una de las pocas explotaciones petrolíferas de España, donde las bombas llevan 40 extrayendo petróleo... y cascadas, monasterios medievales, un balneario...

Uno de los pueblos más bonitos que he visto en toda mi vida. En verano o en invierno todo tiene un aura muy especial.

Bonito pueblo, como toda ka zona, lo más bonito la cascada que baja del pueblo. En fin de semana a tope, casi en procesión.

En España hay un centenar de pueblos impresionantes. Éste es uno de ellos. El acceso es mejorable, pero se puede pasar un día memorable. Y en su entorno, a muy pocos kilómetros, el valle de Valderredible (Cantabria) con unas iglesias románicas magníficas.

Los meses de invierno son los más adecuados para efectuar la visita porque el caudal del río que recorre el pueblo es más abundante y espectacular. Entorno rural muy bien conservado.Merece la pena visitar.

Iba a conocer un pueblo más y la verdad Que no pude evitar abrir la boca y decir Guau!!! Cuando llegamos..hermoso para perderse en el durante unas cuantas horas..cien por cien recomendable

Так получилось, что по Северу Испании я ездила долго. Настолько долго, что некоторые детали могу путать. Одну вещь я не забуду точно никогда - это удивительный красивый водопад в Orbaneja del Castillo. Наверное около сотни удачных фотографий только за первые 10 минут.Казалось бы, небольшое место... И что там смотреть? Ан нет: такое точно не забывается. Есть у него какая-то удивительная прелесть. И задержаться тут хочется...Если будете недалеко - обязательно заезжайте. И сама дорога к нему и деревушка, водопад абсолютно замечательны.

Un pueblo muy bonito situado en una zona de muchas rutas de senderismo, y algunas de las cuales siguen el cañón del Ebro. Pueblo acogedor típico de estas tierras, sobrio y austero, con casas de piedra y una bonita cascada que discurre hacia el rio Ebro. En este valle hay diversos pueblos muy bonitos he integrados en un paisaje rocoso de altos desfiladeros y un mantos verdes. Sin duda un lugar que visitar si eres amante de la tranquilidad y los grandes paisajes.Les recomiendo una visita en primavera, hacer una de senderismo entre varios pueblos siguiendo el rio Ebro.
