The road to get there was bumpy and with potholes... the entrances were hard to find... don't know where is allowed to park the car and where is forbidden... Not many facilities: a bar and a volley sand pitch. After you take a bath in the blue crystal clear 5-10 m deep Adriatic at Budva, Sveti Stefan and Bar, and you will find a grey water with only 1 m depth. The place was crowded by Albanians who listened to loud Albanian music. It was disappointing.Good part: thea beach is sandy, you might like that!

I was here before the Summer season, so everyhting was clean, quiet and attractive. I imagine the crowds in the Summer - must be awful, even for the longest beach in the country.Good hotels nearby, and also lots of restaurants. Enjoy it while you can!

We were here in the off season (September). The beach close to Ulcinj was very dirty and full of garbage. Even the restaurants / beach bars did not clean their sites. Very disgusting and a place to avoid. We drove further south to the Copacabana Beach. The beach bar was very nice, clean and the staff was friendly. There are not so many people and the beach is clean. We really enjoyed our beach days there, and really recommend to stay away from the Ulcinj beaches.

This is really longest sandy beach of Montenegro with some attractions (not many) and bars/eating facilities. Not overcrowded as other popular beaches, probably because of its location far from main tourist places. If you find Sutamore beach (for example) too much crowded, take a tour to the Copacabana Beach in Ulcinj, on this 12 km long beach you’ll definitely find a quite place for you. I also like to suggest visiting one of the biggest nudist beaches in Europe - FKK Ada Bojana beach, which is close to Albania border. There is big nudist village with nudist beach (entrance fee 5 EUR for 1 car); sun beds for 7 EUR/pair (not mandatory to use). To be nude on this beach is mandatory, if your swimming trunks will remain on you, be ready to be advised by local guards to take them off. We haven’t found any beach bar (only restaurant) here, so it’s better to take water with you.

Unusual small dark (almost black) sand, fresh cool breeze, shoal water, a really nice place for walk ashore .

I visited Long beach (Velika Plaža) today. The main problem for the tourists would be how to get there. There is the taxi boats available from the marina near the small beach and the transfer would be 20€. It would be a good choice for a big group or a family. Another choice is taxi and it gonna cost around 3€ from around the clock tower area. I asked the driver to get to Port Minera, the northern edge of the long beach, so it was not that expensive than reaching to the southern edge.If you can catch a "combi" bus, the fare is only 1€. I took a taxi to the beach and got a "combi" back. Combi bus stop is on Bul. Skanderbeg just toward the bus station from the circled intersection. There are some taxi services on the way, so I recommand you to take a taxi to get to the beach. The beach itself is a shallow sandy beach and it can be uncomfortable with sand flying around and iching your eyes. There are alwys wooden beds with a straw hut on it around for resting all the way around. Some areas got king size beds with the shade. In short distances, there are always the shower facilities and the changing closets next to a restaurant. The bathroom is always just the back of these shower facilities and a small spot for the parking. That makes the beach pretty comfortable for the tourists to get everything they need at the beach - food, bathroom, changing area, parking, etc. There is a "combi" bus line just east of the beach line, so people have no probelm getting back to the old town or the bus station. Indeed, it's a good beach for the Summer time to try. There are less people swimming than at the small beach because the location is a bit far from the city center.

Velika plaža is a 16 km long beach stretching from Ulcinj to the river Bojana, i.e. the frontier with Albania. Visitors can enjoy strolling on the healthy sand beach, swimming, surfing, fishing. The small houses for fishermen along the river Bojana are really picturesque. Beside these, I would like to advise visitors to go and see the old town of Ulcinj. Quite near the beach is the nature reserve for birds.

This is the largest beach in Montenegro, located in the south of the country. The most important thing for me - it is sandy! The sand is grey and very soft. After the rocks at the other beaches in Montenegro it feels like heaven! My husband learned wakeboarding - he enjoyed it very much! There are many parts of the beach owned by the hotels nearby and arranged with chaise longues and beds (in September we enjoyed them for free!), but there is also plenty of space where you can lie as you like. The sea is clean and the water is great!

If you find the town beach too busy then this should be more to your liking. Accessible by taxi boat you have to wade ashore up to chest deep as there is no jetty.

The most important thing about this beach - it's a sand beach, which is not a common thing in Montenegro. We had to drive from Bar (~30 km) to get proper swimming experience - all other beaches with stones that harm legs.As it was written in other reviews - the best way to come to Long beach is by car. The road is narrow and not good for walk.

This is the best beach if you want to relax fully. There are many adventures available, many sports, it great for water sports, fishing, parties... I would only advise higher hygiene.

Beach is nice espeacially in the morning when the water is clean. However nothing special as the sand is grey and the water color not blue.... What i didn't like are the surroundigns... Not nice view at all ( very flat ) and full of mosquitos! i wouldn't go back ... Except for the dinner at Misko!

We visited Velika Plaza at the beggining of August 2013. The beach is 13 km long. The sand is black and can get very hot from the sun. The private beaches are well taken care of, but outside these areas the garbage is everywhere. We went to one private beach named Coco Beach. The price for two sun beds and one umbrella was 3 euro. The atmosphere is very nice. You can relax and listen to the waves because the beach bar has no music. The entrance in the sea is shallow and the water seemed a little cold to me.
