Beautiful hike up to the Bridal Wreath Waterfall. There was actually water at the falls which I've heard is not always the case. Don't expect a huge waterfall-remember, this is the desert. The hike to the falls and back is almost 6 miles with about a 1,000 feet elevation. Pretty views. Good workout!
we have done part of this trail heading towards three tanks. many people travel this trail to overnight in the rincon mountains.
This trail is very accessible to hikers and horseback riders and offer a variety of vistas and routes through the desert and mountains of east Tucson. Hikers can choose routes of varying difficulties to loop through the majestic saguaros and rocky foothills of the Rincon mountains. The Bridal Wreath falls trail is a popular destination and water flows there almost year round (it is about a 6.5 mile hike round trip). Wildlife is often spotted here: on recent hikes in this area I spotted a roadrunner, a jack rabbit, several deer, and a gila monster. This would be a good place for visitors who are not hikers as well because the first mile of trail is fairly flat and winds through a towering cactus forest set against the scenic mountain backdrop. Although the parking lot at the Speedway trailhead is small, cars can park along the road nearby. One downside to this attraction, however, is that dogs are not permitted on the trails. Be prepared, too, to navigate around lots of horse droppings, as there are several ranches in the area that use the park for their trail rides. There are no bathroom facilities or water available, so bring plenty of water to drink, especially during the warmer months.
