science center of southern illinois

We became members of the Scienced Center because of all t he fun learning activities they have. The main attraction is "Godzilla" the iguana and the large dinosaur! There are a ton of dramatic play areas for creative play. They also have birthday party packages which are science related. We have had two parties there and the kids always have fun!

When going to Carbondale to see our son in siu school we had a day out and went to the science center which was beautiful and very well for teaching things that some of us people would think we should have already known. It is wonderful for family experience.

Not a lot to do here. My pre-school granddaughter enjoys it. She likes to play at the grocery store, the puppet show, digging in the sand for artifacts and build with the giant plastic blocks. The life size allosaurus draws the kids in but after aminute of staring at it, so what? There are a few animals there and on occasion they will take the rabbits out of their cages for the kids to play with. There are activities for all grade school levels, although there always seems to be something that needs to be repaired. Kids can star in their own news cast and there is a poor quality flight simulator. The price is reasonable for the kids but they charge the adults to come in too. For a small town it is a fairly good experience, just don't expect it to come close to the Science center experience in St Louis

It's a very small place with a few neat things. You can see everything within 30 minutes. I think it's pricey for what they offer, especially if you have a few kids that you need to pay entrance few for.
