argyle lake state park

They have recently redone all of the roads and areas around the park. Very nice get away for some quite. Has fishing with a boat ramp and there is a small restaurant/ bait shop/ boat rental.

We paddled around this small lake, saw a kingfisher and red eared snapping turtle! Small lake, not full of speed boats, relaxing!

the park itself is beautiful and it is nice to hike around. Be aware of the trail steps throughout it though. The wooded steps were slick and some were broken and bridges were unstable. The camp ground was decent. Bathrooms were close and accessible. The showers were quite disgusting and weren't taken care of. There was mold throughout it and had a stench. A group of us girls went during the Labor Day weekend and enjoyed the craft/tractor festival. Apparently it is the main thing that happens there every year. We went to go rent canoes and they were expensive. The guy told me that we could bring beer out into the lake but not to get caught swimming by DNR which I found odd that he would say that. Guess DNR is okay with drinking and not with swimming?
