I went quail hunting with my son for the first time. They virtually guarantee you'll bag your limit, but I didn't believe it. After three hours we only had one bird in the bag after getting off just 4 shots. Steve was great, he couldn't stop apologizing for the lousy day. We returned to the lodge where he made a phone call to corp office and had them refund our entire expense. Then they threw in a free lunch. I've fish my entire life and have had several days of being completely skunked, but never had my money refunded. The lodge was beautiful, the food was great, but the personal attention and service was better than most 5 star hotel. I plan on going back many times.
A truly unforgettable experience awaits the weary traveler meandering their way towards Florida's premiere sporting destination. Arriving moments before sunset made this visit even more special. I was able to glance across the well manicured grounds and soak in the last rays of light just as one of the resident guides pulls up near me with today's harvest and a truck load of some salty hounds. The scene was set. I entered into the main lodge to check in and was immediately overtaken by the beauty of the rustic but elegant setting. Ultra smooth check-in process only made it that much easier to sit down and enjoy a 1 1/2 in NY strip steak. Amazing! Spent the night in the "Old Lodge" room was spotless and very cozy. The thought of the next days sporting events kept my attention all evening. Quail hunting, pheasant, Turkeys, Sporting Clays and fishing so many options to choose from. The staff were super friendly and they appeared to be highly motivated and well trained. Among Florida's Finest destinations.
Went there for Seminoles Skeet Tournament and wow what a gorgeous place. Atmosphere and just being outdoors, this is just the place. People friendly, food good but you can take your own and enjoy family picnic will certainly be back
I had a great time again at QCP, always do. A good way to relax, have fun and enjoy the company of your shooting buddy's and a nice lunch to top it off. Can't wait to go back!.
This club is designed for the clay shooting enthusiast. No expense has been spared to make this a world class facility. There are two sporting clays courses a covered five stand and available wobble trap. The courses wind through old Florida oak hammocks and open up into old pasture land. The clubhouse and facilities are outstanding and the staff are warm and Friendly. The plantation also offers quail and turkey hinting during legal season. Lunch is available on weekends and if you run into club manger Fred Fanizzi and wife Maria you are sure to be delighted by their warm hospitality. I have shot at this club since its inception and can say it has undergone an evolution of continuous improvement. This is a clay shooters paradise and definitely worth a visit..
We were impressed by the facility and the "course" for the skeet shoot. Golf carts were in great condition, the course was diverse and interesting, and lunch afterwards was delicious as always.
I have been there a few times with some friends and the sport shooting is excellent. Friendly helpful staff. Equipment is very good. Carts are available to drive through the 14 shooting stations which is 100 clays (birds) per shooter. Prices are reasonable. Their Lodge is approx. 1 mile down the road and has an excellent lunch. I suggest calling at least 5 days in advance for cart and lunch reservations because many state shooting events are held there throughout the year. Hunting is available but I have not had the opportunity to enjoy it. Worth the ride. Enjoy
I have been going to Quail creek since it opened and the place is awesome. We , it's a family event for us , my wife and son enjoy shooting sporting clays.as well. We usually shoot one of the two sporting clay courses,, one a little softer or shorter than the other, my favorite .We enjoy lunch after shooting and the food there is also very good ,as well the staff are super friendly. The lodge is absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend Quail Creek if you love shooting sports , good food or a beautiful rustic lodge off the beaten trail, this is the place.
I love every time I visit Quail Creek! Beautiful facilities, great skeet shooting, and I'm always treated so kindly by Gwen and her staff! Looking forward to seeing them again soon!
My friend and I have visited Quail Creek Plantation a few times now and can't rave enough about this place. The lodge has the best gourmet dinners and the outside fire pit was most relaxing to sit around and mingle. Waking-up to the sounds of nature and walking throughout the area was peaceful and great exercise, too. If I may, I would describe Quail Creek Plantation as a little piece of Heaven tucked in an unexpected place...Okeechobee, Florida. Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly. There is even a store that sells the most unique rustic furniture, yet another surprising splendor. I highly recommended this place if you are looking get away from the hustle and bustle and looking for a place to enjoy the serenity of nature at its finest.
What a treat! Thank you Quail Creek for making our trip a vacation to remember! From the moment we arrived we were generously greeted and even thought the setting is rustic we had all of the luxuries of home! The food was superb and we even indulged in the one of a kind boutique on the site! What a treat! Gwen even gave us homemade chocolate chip cookies while we shopped! we will definitely be back.
I attended a work function at Quail Creek Plantation and I have to say being a "city boy" my expectations were low. Boy, was I wrong. What a great retreat. Clean, comfortable accommodations with top notch friendly customer service. The skeet shooting was a blast! And the home cooked meals in the dining area are worth every penny. Great food with a personal touch....like eating with a big family. I would not hesitate to return to this hidden gem in the middle of nowhere.
My husband surprised me for my birthday by bringing me here for a 5 day trip. Its in a great location and we were having a good time especially at the range until we meet the Owner (The wife) She was extremely rude and made us feel very uncomfortable by her attitude she emitted. She acted as if she's the most prestige women in Florida and she's above all. My daughters were in the store when they encountered her and she walked past them and then stopped to turn around to say "those are my used clothing rack" Like her used clothing was wore by Madonna or something. Give me a break.
This was a surprisingly fun day. We had a group of 12 of us, many inexperienced in shooting shotguns, so I was not quite sure what to expect. Quail Creek delivered a clean, safe and challenging afternoon of barbecue and outdoor fun.In checking in, some of our crew rented guns while others brought their own. We brought our own ammunition, though ammo was available there for a reasonable price. We started out with a turn at 5-stand, which is basically the driving range of shooting clays. Each person takes a turn (trying to) shoot clays that are launched from various positions at varying heights and speeds. One of Quail Creek's experts guides you along and gives you detailed instruction on gun safety and technique. After several practice rounds, we took a break for lunch, which was a good beef brisket, fries and lemonade/iced tea. After lunch, we headed out on the "red course" which is one of two shooting clay courses with 13 different shooting stands and scenarios. It is very much a nice golf course feel, except of course for the 4x4 golf cart and the sounds of shots being fired. Each stand has instructions telling you how many clays will be fired at a time (1 or 2) and how many shots each person will take (6 or 8). At the push of a button, the clays fly, some headed out, across, over or toward you and even several that race across the ground. It is challenging, but even those who had never shot a gun did pretty well and everyone had a great time. I would say be prepared for varying weather as our day turned from cool and sunny to brisk and windy by late in the day. I would also suggest allowing for it to be a full day affair. As for value, I thought it was money well spent, as we averaged under $100 per person including lunch, the 5-stand and the course with golf cart rental.
Good place to go and practice your skills for hunting. A beautiful location with friendly staff. Was just a slight drive out to get to it but well worth it.
