I played here with 7 friends and it was really not what I expected. The course was not in great shape and the play was extremely slow. Most of the golfers appeared to be retired and they were not in a hurry. The course has a lot of water views but you can't see it because of the plant growth. They need to do a lot of work and this place could be ok. I would not recommend playing here unless you have at least 5 plus hours and you don't mind an ok course. The staff was not very friendly at all. They seemed not to care if you were there or not.
Not worth the $5 discount for waiting. Ranger did not speed up play and tee times too close together. Gave up after 5 hours and only 12 holes completed and 3 groups on each hole ahead of us. No apology when we complained.
You have to rate a course by what you expect. If you want some scenic views breeze from the water. A good rate and close proximity with friendly staff and great food this is it. They have loyalty cards and they reach out to be better all the time. Its fairways are not great and the greens vary depending on time of year. It is challenging as its tight course but I have played for years. Don't expect to have a fast round and you will be backed up for first 4 holes as 2 is dog leg that slows play.
We booked a time for 12.45 arrived at course at 11.15 only to be told we would have to wait they had no golf carts all out on the course finally go started at 1:30 not worth the wait course in terrible condition. They just keep pushing people out it took us 5.5 hours to play our round. Would not go back to the Tides again
We've been coming to this course for years when we're down on vacation. It's not a Country Club so the prices are cheaper. It's basically a neighborhood type course. Be ready to spend some time it will be a 5 hour round. The course shape is ok, they've had a lot of rain so the fairways have suffered. The staff is always friendly. If you're not looking for anything special the course is fine.
You will not, unlike the pictures on the web be shooting to a tee surrounded by views of the gulf It was very busy Golfers started teeing off one group after another This course pays no attention to start times. We were sent out 20mins ahead of our booked time Many of the fairways are side by side with golfers strolling from one to the other looking for lost balls. Their web page says it is a walking course but they told us no we couldn't walk. Just disappointing I did however have some nice shots that day!
The staff were friendly, though pace of play was super slow. If my wife and I were retired and both golfers, I could see this as a good stop. As a serious golfer, this isn't even a consideration for my future play list. The conditions are fair but based on green fees not out of line.
We found the course on the WEB and decided to give it a try. It was inexpensive and we quite enjoyed it . The staff were very friendly . The course gave many opportunities for pictures as well . The lunch at the grill was also quite good. Would return here in a heartbeat. It helps that the scorecard gives each golfer a free drink at the Brown Boxer Pub
I admit that I am a casual golfer, so my metric for courses may not be as exacting as those of "serious" golfers. However, I do not think that anyone could fail to be wowed by the views on this course- they are lovely!!! The staff is kind and courteous. The fees are very reasonable.
This is my local, home town course so I'm biased for sure! I think it's a great course for women, seniors, and casual golfers. There are many more challenging courses in the area, but I keep coming back to the Tides. Beautiful waterfront location, well maintained, lots of wildlife...my favorite place to play.
I would have to say this was very average or even a little on the disappointing side. Unfortunately, the day before we golfed, the area experienced a lot of rain and the course was soaked as a result of bad drainage. We really didn't have any issues at all but found the course to be in mediocre condition (tee boxes in awful shape, greens so-so,...). The course is relatively easy and with some better up keep might be a little nicer. It's also very condensed in that all the holes are right beside one another. Anyway, it was okay but I would try a new location in the future.
Before I start I must thank Sven Nelson and all his staff for a great days golf at the Tides Golf club,I had a 8am tee off time with 2 other golfers, we had a very enjoyable round of golf, although after 2 days heavy rain the course was a wee bit wet,but the greens were in superb condition.I have only 1 complaint the cost of hire clubs is over priced a few other courses I played the club were complimentary, but the club I was given were of a very good standard.I would have no hesitation in playing this golf course again and again. I am a 20 Handicapper and found the course challenging gross score of 93 so I was 1n over par.Again thank you to all staff for a good day's golf.
It was a beautiful course. Great staff. Clubs were suppost to be $45 but they only charged us $30 It was end of season and they were not busy at all had a great time
The course was close and convenient for us so we booked a time for my son & I. Upon arrival I waited until customer in front of me was done and got a "yeah?" from the guy behind the counter. I told him our name and tee time and he came back up with "so what do you what to do?" I said check in and he asked "are you ready?" and then proceeded to act like he could care less if we were set up with a cart and where we needed to go. I am AMAZED that in a competiive market where courses spend $$$ on ads and are fighting for your business that they would put this clown in contact with people. It also would have been nice to at least mention that the greens had been top dressed very recently and were covered in sand which made putting pretty much impossible but gave us beach time I guess. The course had lots of bare areas in what should have been fairways. It is referred to as a "Hard Hat" course because there are several spots where players can hit into each other and really kind of dangerous, we heard balls hitting trees above us. For sure this course maybe cheaper but if rude staff and crap conditions are the trade off I would suggest other options. I laughed when I saw several signs asking to "Save the Tides Golf Club" on a petition or something, I thought to myself, why?
$34 a round 18 holes good shape good pace. The greens were nice the fairways a little bare. Golfing in and around the bay yet sheltered from any ocean breezes.
