We got keen to Howie's from a friend who has been going there for years. In the summer it feels like your just hanging out at the lake by your buddy's house. They have a decent craft beer selection, which is always changing. The food is good and they always have specials that are delicious and well priced. Howie's is the quintessential Portage Lakes bar.

Very comfortable and relaxing pub atmosphere located right on the lake. It's not fancy, it's a real pub environment. We just stopped for drinks and met some very nice local people that made the evening enjoyable.

We rarely miss a stop when renting a pontoon boat without a few libations and snacks at Howie's/ necessary visit and back off to the lake. Wonderful place to sit and have abit of something hot and tasty washed down with something cool.. Sounds like a perfect day or night to us.
