belvidere mansion

The atmosphere is PERFECT. And the food is exquisite and beautifully served. The waitresses are attentive and sweet. Price is okay. But I especially love getting to tour the mansion afterwards. Definitely a place I'll return to.

While we did not eat at the Belvidere, we walked through the 3 story home that is recreated in the time of it's splendor and glory. The staging and preservation of period pieces is stunning and worth a stop. The mansion was decorated for Christmas inside and was like walking through Santa's private quarters! Just spectacular. Whether you eat here or not, be sure to walk through and get a glimpse of what living in an old Victorian like this would have been like back in the day. You can even go through bedrooms and view the bathrooms. What a treasure this place is! They also have a small but stunningly beautiful gift shop with very unique items. I would definitely go again just to browse the gift shop!

What a treat to tour such an interesting part of history. My daughter-in-love and I enjoyed walking through the mansion and imagining the life and times of such a prominent family and important contributors to the community. The Historical Society has done a wonderful job of preserving this magnificient mansion. The staff was so very helpful and kind. We would like to have lunch there the next time I visit. This was a great find for our special day in Claremore.

As said by others this is a fun place with a mixture of attractions. The food was excellent with a nice selection. Gift shops are not my thing, but this one seemed to be somewhat unique and not just your normal tourist selection. The history part is brief and you are on your own, but it is interesting to see that period. This is attraction is not one of the "must see" variety worth traveling to, but it is a very nice stop if you are already going to be in the area.

We stopped at the Belvidere Mansion for lunch in their tea room (see my review under Belvidere Tea Room for my lunch review).Their website advertises "The Belvidere Mansion is open to the public. Tours are free" but they fail to state that the tours are self-guided without any information. You are allowed to glance in the gift shop & tea room on the first floor. The second floor has two bedrooms decorated with antiques from that time period, one of the rooms has a working bathroom.If you are in the area, it does not take very long to look around the Belvidere Mansion but I would not recommend a special trip to see it.Attached are 4 photos from our visit.

A very nice place to visit. Built in the early 1900's, you can roam the home viewing rooms of what typical life would have been at that time. The third floor is a ballroom. A very quaint tea room with a variety of sandwiches, salads, soups, quiche, and even loaded baked potatoes. Many choices for hot tea. The food was delicious! There is an adorable gift shop where you can always find that perfect gift for you or for a friend. A fun place to visit!
