We found this place via the huge billboard advertising on the highway and decided to stop by and check out these trees of mystery. There is the option of the gondola which takes you to the top or you can do a walking trail which would take a few hours to reach the top. We opted for the gondola and it was an amazing aerial view of these magnificent huge trees. It was a fun ride with momentary stops so you could take pictures and really take in the mountain surroundings. Once we reached the top we decided to the walk trail back down instead of going with the gondola this time and it was a nice and peaceful nature walk for us but its a bit tough at certain spots with steep descends downhill. There are big walking sticks provided as you start the walk trail so that helps. There are beautiful wood carvings on display along the trail near the entrance that are to be seen to be believed. Truly amazing artwork! Nice big gift shop inside. A must do if you are a tree lover and a fan of the Redwoods! Its great for all ages.

Brought my wife here after visiting with my family when I was younger. I could never forget Paul and Babe as a kid, and although Paul lost his right arm in a recent storm, their sheer size are still amazing to me!The trails here are pretty extensive and depending on how much you want to see, this could be a little bit of a workout for you, but it is all worth it. The sky trial gondola ride up was breathtaking as we were there on a clear day and could see the ocean from it. We opted to take the trail down which was about a mile of steep downhill terrain. We are both somewhat experienced hikers and this was a little bit of a challenge just due to the sheer steepness of the trail. Worth it though for the peace and quite of being alone out amongst the redwoods.The gift shop is huge and the workers are all very friendly. I love this place and will come back anytime we are in the area, next time with our kids!

This is a cool place, which doesn't take all day to get round, but has plenty to see. I'm not really a nature person myself, but this was definitely worth a visit. Coming from the UK, I have never seen trees like this; some of them are huge!The trail takes you past lots of different types of trees, until you get to the Sky Trail. The Sky Trail is a pod type thing that you sit in and it takes you up into the trees - a bit like a cable car. It doesn't take too long to get to the top, but it is wonderful to see the trees from up high. The Sky Trail takes you to a wooden platform where you can look out amongst all the trees. It was a bit foggy on the day we went, but there was still lots to see and you definitely still got the atmosphere of the place. After the Sky Trail there are some nice wooden sculptures to see, before finishing off in the gift shop.What a lovely place!

This attraction may look like a tourist trap but if you want to spend some time walking through amazing trees and riding the cable car into the tree tops. We enjoyed taking our time going down the mountain while walking through chain-saw carvings of the Paul Bunyan story.The gift shop is a museum and has a lot of beautiful treasures to take home with you. Assume you will need at least 2 hours (we didn't and almost missed our flight).

Very cool little tourist trap type place. We went not really knowing what to expect, after seeing billboards for 100 miles. But it was worth the stop! A tree had fallen the day before and damaged the Paul Bunyan Statue. They were still chopping up the offender when we got there. They also answered the age old question. If a tree falls in the woods and no one sees it does it make a noise? No, it does not. They never heard a thing, just pulled up to open and saw the fallen tree and the damage LOL. Views and trails were great for those not in shape. Go to the top on the gondola for sure!

Great little hike, not strenuous at all, and ride on the gondola. Interesting museum with Native American artifacts and regalia from all over the US. Nice gift shop with a huge variety of gifts and activity packs.

The scenery here is unbelievable. We expecially enjoyed the Gondola ride. Amazing to look down on the tops of the trees.

The Trees of Mystery and Sky Trail estate in the Township of Klamath represent a must-visit stop for all travelers visiting this coastal area of Del Norte County. This huge operation hosts finest Native American Museum west of the Mississippi River. Also a superb gift shop featuring a broad range of unique, locally produced items, customized clothing, and a section exclusively stocked with precious rocks. Try their fudge. After having a conversation with the 60-foot-tall Paul Bunyan accompanied by his famous giant Blue Ox, jump onto a motorized cart to board a Sky Trail gondola and ride up to the top of the mountain. Along the way, enjoy the special ecosystem that exists only at the very top of a pristine Redwood forest. Spend a moment on the ridge top looking out over the vast Klamath River canyon and Osprey nests, and then rotate 180 degrees to see the Pacific Ocean. Cap off this amazing experience either by returning via gondola or taking a one-mile walking path back down the mountain to see what a 1,500-year-old Redwood forest looks like with its accompanying beautiful flowers and ferns. Chances are you'll see a wild bear or two on the way. (Don't worry, they are used to visitors and don't bite.) This incredible experience brings people from all over the world, and rightfully so. It is a destination stop with a fine restaurant across the highway and a motel. We never miss the opportunity to stop there when traveling along U.S. Highway 101.

Had the pleasure of visiting this spot in July with my crew. We we in awe of the majestic forest! The 'tour' was interesting, although the signs and voice boxes seemed a little run down and need of some repairs. The highlight was the gondola ride up the mountain, so cool! It happened to be very foggy at the top, so literally zero visibility of the forest below. That was disappointing, although no fault of the resort. I'm am glad we visited, however if you have more time, there are other local free, or next to free, spots to visit with just as amazing scenery that I highly recommend.

We had seen the signs for a few hours on the side of the road advertising the Trees of Mystery, so were excited to finally see the stop on the side of the road. It is $15 per adult (less for kids) to enter the hike and take the gondola to the top of the hill. The hike is about a 0.4 mile hike up some moderate steepness with several different signs and stories along the way of the various shapes and sizes of the redwoods surrounding you. They named various trees (eg brotherhood tree, cathedral tree, family tree, etc) based on their shapes and sizes, so it is fun to read the signs and see the variety of redwoods. You're in a forest of redwoods and hiking through is an incredible experience. Once you finish the hike you take a 7-9 minute gondola ride to the top with an observation deck of the redwood forests and a beautiful ocean view through the trees. We visited around 3:30 pm in January on a Saturday, so there were a few people around us but didn't feel crowded at all and at times we had the trail to ourselves (along with the gondola ride). Highly recommend making this 30 minute - 1 hour pit stop as you're driving by on the 101 and it is well worth the cost of entry.

What a wonderful place to spend an afternoon and free. The trees are so tall, you can't see the tops. The Sky Trail is very enjoyable at about $15 each. Nice gift shop, not overly expensive.

Definitely plan a few hours. Enjoy the talking exhibits. Take pictures. And ride the sky train in both directions a couple of times. Need to face in both directions to get a full idea. Then ride once just looking down at the ground. Then if you are stout of ankle take the walking trial down to the bottom. Grab a walking stick they are helpful. And don't be too proud, HANG ON to the rope. We've taken lots of folks to this site. All enjoy it, regardless of the weather. Have to admit my favorite time was when the trees were exploding with pollen. But have been here in rain, fog, clear sunny days, and super windy days. All were enjoyable.

Anyone who does not like this concession is out of touch with life, nature and God. You can not find such unique trees anywhere else on earth. I always feel that I am near to what I think Heaven will be. The trees are simply amazing. God made these and idiots tried to cut them all down. When you go there, feel like you are experiencing a true wonder of the world. I simply love Trees of Mystery and return every time I am in the area. Be sure and take your children and grandchildren, they will never forget it.

They are great! Make sure you take the sky train to the top!! We went on a weekday morning and we had the place to ourselves mostly!! This is a must see!!

Friendly people with a good story for those willing to listen. It's more than a pit stop. Take your time plan for at least a couple hours. It's not all about the gift shop although they have a lot of cool stuff. The museum contains an astonishing amount of historical items of several different native American tribes of the west cost.
