This tour, being my first, I did not know what to expect. We were touring with family members, 20 of us. Some members from Texas have grown to love Wente Wines. Our Tour Guide was patient with our lagging, our questions, and concerned with our physical comfort . A few of us had walking aides and were very tired due to the day already. Very clean, well situated wine and gift shop area. Eager to meet with you regarding shipping wine across states and any other requests. The grounds were beautiful, and family friendly. A huge plus; we had children ranging in ages of 1.3 years to almost, 17 years of age. I also noticed a Bocce Ball Court on the side of the front lawn. I have to go back to tour again to pick up on the history and info that I missed on this tour. And play some Bocce. There is a fee if you are tasting, and no fee if just touring.

My boyfriend happened to be passing Livermore and stopped in to check out Wente, as we have seen their wines in the stores. It is a large and beautiful property and Cheryl immediately greeted us at the entrance with a complimentary tasting of the Sauvignon Blanc or Zin. She educated us about the 2 tasting options, and we opted for the main tasting room to try their small lot wines. That is where Kara stepped in and made us feel at home. She explained each of the tastings and we had a great time getting to know her and the winery. She even made some suggestions for other places, as well. I enjoyed the experience and we will definitely be returning to checkout the "hands on" wine tasting room. Thank you!

I went up to Wente Vineyards on a Tuesday afternoon so it was not busy but while driving in the grape vines, the attractive architecture, the well kept greens just said "Place for a Wedding"! I don't know if they do weddings there, but it certainly would make for some great photographs. Anyway, onto the wines. The building where the wine tastings are held is a small building but the coziness works inside where they have a small gift shop in the wine tasting area. They pourer explained the two families/types of wines they have and I tried the normal (not high brow) list of wines, but the pourer very generously poured a small sample of a couple of the high brow wines, which made for great comparisons. Although I really like three of the wines my suitcase could only safely fit one bottle, so I bought the Chardonnay. Would love to return!

My husband and I were passing through from Yosemite to San Francisco. We stopped at this winery because they were open late. The tasting was $10 for 5 wines. The wines were OK. We decided to eat at the restaurant next door and the gal behind the counter at the winery advised us to buy wine at the winery versus the restaurant....thank you, the $30 bottle of wine at the winery was $46 at the restaurant next door! It was so busy at the wine tasting room, we really couldn't get individualized attention.

Wow where to begin...The wine tasting was great. Highly recommend you seek out "Darryl" when you visit. He is very knowledgeable and his explanations are clear and easy to understand. He took his time with us. (Other places really seem to push people along.) We left with a love of the Wente Wine and experience. Thank you so much Darryl you made our 30th anniversary trip Amazing!!

This is Wente’s smallest tasting room, adjacent to their excellent golf course and superb restaurant. It’s serene, as opposed to the more hyperactive tasting rooms at their other holdings--Murrieta’s Well, their Vineyard Estate Tasting Room, and Tamas Tasting Room a few miles away at the winery. All are worth visiting, for different reasons. Two flights to choose from. The more costly flight features their higher end label "Nth Degree" wines, which feature Arroyo Seco fruit. I enjoyed their pinot noirs, but you can get better pinots from the same area (and other areas) at less than the $50.00/bottle they charge. The vast majority of their annual production is still in labels you find in supermarkets, but they’re making a definite push into the more boutique segment.Wente has become very corporate, and pretty much controls the Livermore Valley since Concannon went bankrupt a few years back. They're putting out 650k+ cases a year among their Wente, Murrieta's Well, and Tamas brands. They also manage about half the vineyards in the valley, as well.A round of golf, followed by a tasting, followed by an excellent lunch at their restaurant, rather than the little grill in the clubhouse--a great day. If you go on a weekend, a reservation at the restaurant is a must.
