I went to this book shop while visiting my brother. It is a favorite place of his children... And he and his wife. Selection was great and I love the way they tag recommendations. I certainly wish there were more shops like this.

Kepler's Books and Magazines is an independent bookstore which was founded by Roy Kepler in May 14,1955. It is a good book store. It is also known for its literary events and author speaker series. One can contact the bookstore or look on line at their web site if interested in what events are planned. They also offer book for sale periodically. When we go there, we park in the underground parking lot at the center (free lot). It is also walkable distance from the Menlo Park Cal Train station. Also, if you cannot wait to read your new book, there is good cafe in the same center called Cafe Borrone.

Browsing Keplers and having a cup of coffee at Cafe Borrone next door is one of my favorite ways to spend an hour or two on the San Francisco Peninsula. Book lovers will feel right at home: a wonderful selection of books, knowledgable and friendly staff. I always find at least one book (and usually more like five) I'd love to read on their display tables. The bookstore and the cafe are real community meeting places: everyone from parents and kids to VCs meeting with start-ups.

The main indie bookstore for the Menlo Park/Palo Alto area. Great selection of books actively curated by a knowledgeable staff rather than just stocked from a best seller list. Need a good cookbook? Kepler's has a great selection. Lots of evening events with book signings and famous authors. Next door is Cafe Baronne for a nice lunch/coffee/dinner. Park in the lot under the building.

Keplers is the perfect bookstore, located next to a great cafe with indoor/outdoor seating. Speakers, knowledgeable staff, great kids section.

if you need a book, or want to speak to highly knowledgable folks who "know books"drop in and spend a few hours among the shelves.

Shopping for books in bookstores may be a dying activity, but if you get the chance to check out Kepler's, you have to do it. I especially enjoy the back wall fiction section, which highlights staff favorites, making it easier to find hidden gems you might enjoy. It's also always fun to check out the Summer Reading section; the high school summer reading choices usually include many of the classics. Best of all, it's right next door to Borrone, so you can grab a great meal before or after browsing the shelves (which can keep you in the store for hours).

I remember when this store was across the street in the 60's. It is now in a very open, entertaining location. Ask the help desk for help, or just talk to them about what you are thinking... I'm always confused in bookstores. This help desk will aid you to help target what you are interested in for that particular visit.

Although you won't find a massive selection like a Barnes store, you will find fantastic author-signed gems (like the Game of Thrones book I just bought) and local author books as well. They host lots of signings as well as lectures and offer very personal, small store service. Great location with a bit of tricky parking on occasion. We should work hard to support this local gem.

When you buy books online you may save a few dollars, but eventually the book stores will go out of business. I like going to a bookstore and picking up a book and seeing what is in it and reading a little of it to see if I like it- asking the clerks their opinion, seeing what other books are around and of interest. it is harder to do that online. Going to a store gives you a more rounded experience. If we then buy online how can a store survive? I realize e-books are where the trend is, but this book store is offering so much more. thank God, or it won't be around too much longer.Support your local bookstore.

When I want to find some books that are out of the ordinary this is the place to go. Very good service and an assortment of reading material. Definitely worth driving out of your way to visit.

Quiet location and close to Stanford. Close to restaurants and shopping. Walk to most everything.

Great bookstore and staff. Lots of good titles for adults and kids. Great location in central downtown.
