There are many good wineries, good vines, friendly people- great experience ! Beautiful views and vistas.....
Wonderful place to taste a bunch of wonderful wines from small wineries that do not have tasting rooms. Server was one of most knowledgeable I have had at any wine tasting room. He judges wine competitions. Wine was so good I bought a case--price was about $19/bottle on average for some very good wines.
Amador 360 is the collective tasting room for small local wineries who don't have tasting rooms yet. A friendly and knowledgable staff pour a good selection of wines from some of the area's top wineries--but no one knows about them because they don't have a tasting room. It's a great place to sample some wines you wouldn't otherwise get to try--like the Fiddletown Cellars Zinfandel. And they ship, too.
Great wine class from Pooch on how to taste like a wine judge. All the wines we tasted were great. Best item was the fact they had two bottles of wine with issues. One was "Corked" the other had AVA issues. Great to taste a "Bad" wine to know it for the future.
Amador 360 is a tasting room representing a winery collective consisting of small wineries that cannot support their own tasting rooms. In reality, these smaller wineries make superlative wines that are largely snapped up by restaurants and wine purveyors. They do not have the production capacity to sell their wines to Bevmo! or Total Wine and probably have no motivation to do so.The only way that you will get hold of many of these wines is by visiting Amador 360.
If you don't have time to visit a lot of wineries, or you want to taste wines from smaller wineries without tasting rooms, stop by here. Brian is very knowledgeable about all the wines. Plus if you buy a lot of wine in the area, he also has a wine shipping business. Events for groups can also be arranged.
Amador 360 carries a lot of wines that aren't represented by tasting rooms and are too small for distributors, as well as wines from some of the larger Amador producers. Its a must-stop. Brian selects and pours interesting varieties that demonstrate the broad range of wines that are being produced from Amador County's excellent wine grapes. And the place is darling, a neighborhood gem.
If this is your first visit to the Amador/Shenandoah area or even if you are returning, make this your first stop. Brian and/or Deirdre can help you plan your day to make the most of your particular favorite wines. Also, they have a great selection of local wines from boutique wineries. At the end of the day, if you need your purchases shipped home, you can also arrange that through the store. They'll even pick up your purchases at the wineries (though I'm not sure exactly how that works).Spending a little time here at the start of your wine-tasting will pay dividends in your enjoyment of this wonderful emerging wine area.
