This winery has a very small tasting room, but very cute. Has a small patio area that looks out to the vineyard. The lady was very friendly and knowledgeable, made our experience fun. We walked through the barrel room.We didn't particularly like the merlot, however, we found that the 2010 cabernet to be nice, but really enjoyed the Red Mountain 2010 reserve cabernet.$5 tasting that is applied towards purchase.

Met the wine makers this weekend! The wine was great, the atmosphere comfortable, good wine and great people! Don't miss! Riley the happy dog will wag his tail!

My girlfriend and I visited the tasting room (among others in the area!) and had a great time here. The wine was great and it was only surpassed by the bread, which was quickly devoured. I give it 5 stars because there was an awesome dog there

The last time we visted Hightower Cellars was at least 6 years ago, when Murray, the previous winery dog before Riley, was there. Hightower have a couple of wines named after Murray. However, maybe with Murray's passing, so did the enthusiasm of the owners. The lady in the tasting room seemed confused at times, and when we went into their warehouse and watched some bottling taking place, the owner did not bother to greet us. There are no white wines, only reds. Go to Hightower for the expansive views over Benton City.

Sitting on the patio, looking at unobstructed views of the Horse Heaven Hills type of terrain, and sipping some very nice wines ranks right up there. The wine tasting involved about 10 different wines, arranged in a logical order, with as much interpretation on each that you cared to have. You may also order by the glass, bottle, or case, of course. The building is, indeed, interesting architecturally and much in keeping with the terrain. The patio, right outside, was particularly nice with umbrella tables, huge pots of flowers, a barrel stave back wall, sun and shade, and oh my -- that wonderful view. The people are friendly and accommodating and I felt this was time well spent. This is what a winery tasting room was meant to be!

Really cool building with an amazing view through a floor-to-ceiling panoramic window. The architecture is cool and they used eco-friendly building materials like reclaimed pieces of wine barrels. Most importantly, their wines were all pretty darn good, and extremely affordable. And the service was wonderful - very friendly and personal. We went on a Sunday afternoon in May and were the only people there! Highly recommend.
