This is our second visit to this wonderful little pub. We were in town for travel seminars at Rick Steves' Europe (across the street), and wandered over for a beer and sandwich before heading home. The place was packed at 2:00 pm... we only had to wait a few minutes for a table. Lots of interesting beers on the chalkboard; the menu items all looked good, too. We all ordered the Reuben sandwich, which came on grilled marbled rye bread, thick with saurkraut and melted cheese and corned beef. It was an excellent sandwich! Our friends also ordered the mac & cheese, which was also very good. We will definitely come back the next time we're in Edmonds. It's a friendly, warm, and welcoming place.
Originally Jack Murphy’s, the name and owners have since changed. I don’t know if the prior or new owners did the décor but a definite effort went into making it look like an old pub including old seasoned dark wood and low lighting. From their full menu I chose the chili. My only complaint is that the bowl was too small…..the large portion size wasn’t the problem, it was just too good and I wanted more! Everything else on the menu looked good and worth trying the next time I am in downtown Edmonds.
Food, service and beer are good, though, so I'll live. The rotating beer selection leaves little to be desired. Staff is courteous and attentive. Food is delicious and not too heavy. I really can't say enough. The true Irishman in me is annoyed that this pub can't decide whether it wants to be English or Irish. That minor faux pas aside, this place rocks.
My husband, sister and I went here to experience a taste of DC nightlife on our vacation. We ended up meeting a few guys from Iowa and other parts of the US and had a blast talking and trying beers on their extensive menu. Great spot!
My husband and I met another couple here on a Saturday evening for to catch up over a few drinks. The atmosphere is laid back and casual. Service is quick and the wait staff is very knowledgeable on the different beers and cocktails they serve. I had the Texas Sipper off the the specialty cocktail menu and I was very pleased! It was very refreshing! My husband ordered a Moscow Mule and he was not disappointed! We weren't hungry so we didn't order food but we had a taste of the Bavarian Pretzel our friends ordered and it was delicious. We will definitely be back!
