Nice play area for kids, small beach area and lots of parking. A little expensive unless you plan on being there a wile to make the 10.00 parking worthwhile.

My family and I camped there with our 19ft travel trailer. Campsites 1-3 have water and power, and 4-18 have full hookups. They are back-in spots, not very long, and not that wide. The spots are flat, and if your trailer isn't giant, it is a nice place, but I think longer trailers might have an issue. We camped there in December and the water was on, and the restrooms were open. There are showers, but they require tokens. The dump station is out of service, so go for a spot with full hookups. Use the official Website and make a reservation to be sure that you get a spot. The camp host sells firewood, as does the Chevron out on the main road. Poulsbo is very close by and they have any supplies that you might need. There is a very nice "big toy" for kids, and a wide, gravel walk down to the beach. The official Website lists swimming as an activity, but it is hood canal, so the beach is gravel covered with shells and barnacles, and the water is freezing. I have never seen anyone in the water on previous trips. The view from the beach is of the Olympic Mountains on the other side of the canal, and they are beautiful.

This little waterfront park is a delightful spot on the Hood Canal waterfront. Since requiring the Discover Pass to park a car at a State park, attendance has been down dramatically. This means that the Kitsap State park, and others like it, are often very uncrowded. It is a nice place to have a picnic, or walk on the rocky beach. There is a pavilion there that can be used for parties, weddings, etc.

This is a wonderfully maintained State park. We rented cabins with group of friends and the cabins were well maintained and clean. The washrooms were a few meters away from the cabins but extremely clean and well kept. The sunset views were amazing... you just can't stop loving it for ever. This is also a wedding venue and the lodge and other facilities for the wedding party looked amazing... A must see in the Kitsap peninsula

If you are trying to keep up with traffic on Highway 3, you might miss the entrance for Kitsap Memorial State Park between Poulsbo and Kingston. If so, find an opportunity to turn around and retrace your path because you do not want to miss adding this jewel of a park to your treasure chest of memories. This relatively small park packs a big punch, with camping, hiking, fishing, boating and plenty of open, grassy lawn to play with your kids, your pets, your family reunion or just to have a seat and relax. There are campsites for tents, shelters and a few cabins, picnic sites including a large catering kitchen and a big community meeting hall perfect for a wedding-with-a-view. Lots of parking and very accessible facilities make this a friendly place to spend leisure time. A newly-added big toy gives kids a chance to work off some excess energy if you are just pit-stopping, or take a walk through the woods - mostly flat and friendly for all ages. Awalk down to the beach below rewards you with a 180-degree view of Hood Canal, a lively beach for exploring. Go, enjoy, support your parks!

My cousin got married here in May 2014 and I was surprised at how beautiful the park was. Most state parks do not lend well for a typical wedding venue since they dont have a covered area, but this place had a really nice rustic lodge for the reception, and the ceremony looked at the water and had a covered area. They had a beautiful wedding that was so fitting for them, it was magical and the park had such a peaceful setting.

We spent last Sunday, a beautiful sunny afternoon, at this park, sitting on the rocks aside Hood Canal. What a fantastic family place. There are some beautiful camping sites and about five or six small rustic cabins. We are going back soon to camp. There is a charge or requirement of a Discovery Pass.

Beautiful location with a wide open field for kids to runs around all day without safety concerns. We rented a cabin and it worked out great for our family. We can't wait to return again in summer

This park is a try gem. While tint, this park has it all, field and playground for the kids, amazing 70ft evergreens and a view of the Olympics to die for. This place is a great spot for a quick stroll before driving back to Seattle or a beautiful spot for a wedding I'm sure.

Nice park, with facilities for overnight if needed, several cabins. Large log structure for gatherings, and covered tables for picnicking! Big expansive lawn for gatherings, picnics and games!

Held my wedding here. It was wonderful. The rangers took great care of us. It started to rain that morning, before the wedding and they quickly allowed us to add the log hall to our building rental. I'm actually glad it rained, because having the wedding held in the hall was absolutely perfect. And the price for what was on offer was amazing, compared to other venues in the surrounding area. I planned my wedding from Japan, with the help of a sister, who was able to visit and sign in my stead. It was a painless and beautiful experience.
