We attended the Kathleen Madigan standup comedy routine at Harbison Theatre. The place was packed and the audience was really tuned in to the goings-on and having lots of fun. You could see that both Ms. Madigan and warmup comedian Vic Henley were feeding on that vibe and working very hard to entertain us. The venue had a lot to do with that. Because Harbison Theatre is small (just 400 seats), there is an intimate feel to the place. It’s not a nightclub setting, which is perfect for standup comedy, but it’s the next best thing.

I had been shopping all day and decided to take a break and see a movie. The theater was very clean and all the employees seemed so cheerful that it made me smile. The seats were comfortable, the temperature was just right and the restrooms were clean too!

Went here this fall for a local play, Last Stop Chapin. Wonderful actors and the venue is wonderful. Just big enough but small enough to be able to see and feel a part of the production. Chairs were comfortable and the building is modern and well taken care of. Definitely would come again!

Attended a play here this summer and music performances for my daughter the year before. Seating is excellent--only a few undesirable seats. Acoustics are really well done. Looking forward to attending more shows on the future.

nice ,small theater which adds to Columbia cultural scene. Has local acting troupes in addition to national touring shows. Not a bad seat in the house. Plenty of free parking-very clean,safe place.

We’ve attended several performances at Harbison Theater, most recently last September when we saw Chapin Theatre Company’s production of a rib-tickler called “Unnecessary Farce.” (Only a last minute schedule conflict prevented us from using our tickets to “Second City” in February.) We like this little theater a lot. With a seating capacity of just 400, it has an intimate, friendly feel and there’s not a bad seat in the house. Parking is free and super-convenient too. I do wish that the concessions service would offer a more diverse selection of drinks and snacks, but that’s not much of a complaint, is it? Harbison Theater offers a nicely rounded schedule of performances and special events. Although we’ve not yet seen any music or dance performances at this venue, we’ll correct that oversight at some early opportunity. Since we especially like the Chapin Theatre Company's comedies, we'll be sure to catch a performance of the Hallelujah Girls this summer.

Took my daughter to see Chapin Theatre production of little mermaid. We had a great time and the theatre was very nice. I highly recommend going there to watch a show.
