This is a lot of entertainment for all family members. There is space to relax and watch the kids and then get dumped on by the water bucket. For more fun is the climbing wall and walking across floats in the water. Food is available inside and very roomy showers and rest rooms.
Every time we are in town we have! to go to the water park. Its big enough to make all the kids happy but small enough for them to have some freedom too! Which Moms and kids love. :)
This facility has a lot to offer. Zero entry and shallow kiddie area, a playground type setup with water fountains, mini slides, and the huge dump bucket. Also big water slides, 2 you just ride and one you ride with a tube. There are double tubes you can go down with kids as long as they are 48" tall. (This was handy for my 5 year old who is tall enough but not strong enough swimmer to go down by himself. The obstacle course/lily pad thing is cool. We had a lot of fun. And the facility is beautiful and CLEAN. They have a snack bar. Two things to note: 1. No refunds for bad weather. 2. You are not allowed to bring outside food or drink, but you ARE allowed to go back out to your car once you have your wrist bands. We went out to our car to wait out a lightning storm, and I was glad we had snacks. Hoping for better weather next time.
With so many pools for all ages, refreshing snacks and little nooks to just bask in the sun....it's a great attraction for the whole family. And inexpensive - it was around $7 for the whole day
This water park is a large part of why we moved to Spearfish. It's very clean and there are plenty of lifeguards on duty. Lots of variety for the family. Zero depth pool for the little ones and three big slides for the big kids. The lazy river is small and expect lots of bumps and splashes along the way, but this place makes summer a blast in Spearfish. Opens at noon and closes at 7 pm. They also have Flick & Float during the summer, when people can play in the pool and watch a movie on the big, inflatable screen.
When we joined there were many rooms available all the time. A week after we joined the snowstorm in October hit. After the storm a local business move in, limiting paying customers space and leaving public areas with "employees" loitering. 7 months later the business is still there and never was a discount offered or a free discontinue of membership. Also, the rec center pass does not cover the swimming pass. I was ok about the not covering the swimming, but with the business moving in the rec center should have offered a discount or some incentive to paying year round members.
