My daughters (age 7 and 8) loved it here. We did an overnight stay so we were able to enjoy the water park for two days. They thought it was awesome to be able to swim and slide in the middle of cold, rainy weather. We found it to be pretty clean, and the lifeguards seemed to be attentive which was something that seemed to be an issue in other reviews.

While staying in French Lick I got a day pass and went to the waterpark for a few hours. At 69 the 69 steps to the beginning of the water slides were a long way. Each of the slides were fine. I enjoyed the bowl the most since it was the most unusual. Sitting in a tube on the lazy river was very relaxing as well. Sitting in the hot tub relaxed a few travel muscles.

It was fun and clean, but I didn't get to stay there for the night. The food was good and the arcade games worked. Hope to come back soon!!!

Dear Trip Advisor Reviewer,As a mother of two kids I totally understand ensuring their safety! Fortunately the issue is not the chlorine levels. It is, chloramine, a gas that the body emits when exposed to chlorine. Chloramines are formed any time ammonia and nitrogen are in the water. Some of the ammonia and nitrogen compounds are introduced into the water by swimmers and bathers in the form of perspiration. An active swimmer sweats one pint per hour. That is why people are asked to shower before and after they enter the pool. As you know, most people do not want to take the time to do that. In the winter, when our water park is enclosed the gases are very hard to release. Weather can even affect the gas. If it is rainy or a heavy dew in the air, it is even more difficult. After we close in the evenings we open the roof and side windows to release the gases and then close in the morning in enough time to heat up the air in the waterpark before guests arrive. It is a gas that hangs low to the ground and can stay in your system for several days. This is a natural occurrence that happens. Our water always exceeds the state guidelines and is checked more than the state requires. We are looking into actually making our leisure pool a salt water pool which will help this issue since it is in the back of the park. This time of year we tend to be very busy which means a lot of bodies in the water park and a lot of chloramines being emitted. I hope this explanation eases your mind a little bit. Of course we strive to create a fantastic guest experience! During the Spring and Summer this issue is non-existent as we have our windows and roof open. Most of our games have been repaired and we are looking into getting some new games as well! I'm glad to hear that you felt our staff was friendly. Again, we appreciate your feedback and hope that you will consider being a guest again soon!Sincerely,Management

Dear Trip Advisor Reviewer,Thank you for your recent review. What you are experiencing is not chlorine poisoning. We would never put the health of our guests at risk! ! Dear Trip Advisor Reviewer,Thank you for your recent review. It sounds like you participated in our fundraiser school program and were able to purchase tickets for a discounted price. We are sorry to hear that you weren't able to enjoy the water park. However, the tickets were good for 7-10 months, expiring 12/31, depending on when you purchased the tickets from your program. We do only offer a limited number of day pass guests into our facility as overnight guests get priority. We do apologize that you had a bad experience. If you would like extension tickets since you were unable to use the facility, please email us at guestrelations@bigsplashadventure.com and we can extend them for you to use at a later date. Again, we thank you for your review and do hope that you will consider our facility again in the future!Sincerely,Management

Dear Trip Advisor Reviewer,Thank you for your recent review. We are glad to hear that you thought our resort was ok...just too crowded. The week after Christmas tends to be the busiest week of the year. We do limit the number of guests that we admit to the water park based on our capacity levels. We did have an issue with laundry this past week which is why there was a low supply of pool towels. Our management team will be meeting this week to discuss some of the issues we encountered this past week and make adjustments for next year. We do hope that you will consider visiting Big Splash Adventure again as we would love for you to experience our facility at its best! Again, we thank you for your review and wish you a great day and new year!Sincerely,Management
