Standing room in a warehouse sets the scene & the flavorful satisfying beer completes the picture very nicely! Welcoming environment with great beer!
This place is unique. Seemed very friendly but it is like being in someone's garage. My husband liked the beer they had. I usually prefer a wheat type beer and they didn't have any. I'm sure if you went there with friends it would be a nice place to have a beer with them. Standing room only. You can even bring your own glass and leave it there if you are a local and they will keep it for you to use when you come back.
CHuck has been making beer in this old factory building for about 14 years. While he almost always has his regular beers such as Back Road Ale, Midwest IPA, he also makes some great sesaonal beers, such as the current Autumn Ale. Not a fancy place. Someone said it's like standing around in a friends basement drinking beer. Very friendly and casual. People are known to bring in snacks, which are always welcome. If you want great beer and meet interesting people, stop in.
Brewery in an old factory building in LaPorte. If you like GREAT beer, you have to try it. There are no circuses here...it's purely a brewhouse, with the exception of the fantastic Oktoberfest they host every year during September. Other breweries as well as an authentic German band are there. Some of the best microbrew I've had!
The beer here was awesome! The prices are very fair too if you want to buy any beer to go.I loved the tour given by the owner as well. He explained their processes for brewing and choosing which beers to brew. My only complaint is that the bathroom stall door sdid not lock (or even shut all the way). This is a little sketchy for a unisex bathroom with more than 1 stall. It's a hidden gem for sure.
Chuck has been making great beer from this location since the mid 1990s--right next to the railway and Larsen-Danielson. Not much to see at the brewery, but who cares! The beer is fantastic. I specifically like the Belle Gunness Stout--which to me tastes similar to Edmund Fitzgerald Porter. I also recommend the Blueberry Ale and Maple City Gold. Worth a visit when in LP.
