Avast all ye landlubbers out there! If you never had the fun of being a "pirate" for a day, you must experience sailing with Captain Steve and his capable first mate on their pirate ship. Captain Steve and his first mate are dressed in full pirate regalia and you feel like you are stepping back in time. They gave out free pirate bandanas to the kids, and Captain Steve does an awesome job of "tattooing" their arms (drawing cute tattoos that wash off later). The kids on our trip just loved it. One little boy even said he wished he was going to school the next day so he could show it off. The pirate ship is one of a kind and is quite authentic looking. We cruised the beautiful lakes in the Eagle River chain and it was so relaxing. We saw three eagles the day we cruised and an eagle's nest. Captain Steve is very adept at spotting them. There was free lemonade and popcorn and you are welcome to bring your own food and drinks onboard. I would have expected to pay a lot more than $15 per adult for all the fun we had. My husband and I are definitely going to cruise with them again next year. Captain Steve told us an even bigger pirate ship is going to be built over the winter, so we look forward to that. We didn't have time to visit the ice cream shoppe but if it is anything like our cruise, I'm sure that is top notch too. So all ye landlubbers out there, drop some booty and take a cruise with Pirates Hideaway. I would make reservations if at all possible so you don't get shut out, as they only have one cruise a day.

Gail Moline with Afterglow Lakes Resort (Phelps) organized a resort wide excursion on this pirate boat. We had a great time. There's a tiki bar when you arrive w/facilities before you board. The boat is very festive, it has a couple steering wheels so people of all ages can partake. There are two planks that people of all ages can jump off of at the end of the excursion. Lifejackets onboard are useful for little kids who want to jump & swim. Byo food & beverages onboard. There are several tables & chairs. Bathroom on board too.Loads of fun!

I, my wife, daughter and four grandchildren spent a sunny afternoon with Captain Steve cruising the Eagle River chain of lakes. The grandchildren sure enjoyed the art work of Captain Steve. The popcorn and lemonade really hit the spot. After some convincing, two of the grandchildren walked the plank and jumped in and went back to do it again. Hope to do it again next with a larger group.

I rented the pirate ship for a chartered cruise with my girlfriends. Steve was so accommodating and we had a great time. We plugged an Ipod with '80's music into the system and were off for a great 3-hour cruise. Bring your own music, snacks and beverages and have a great time. I will be doing this again with family and highly recommend it!

We have taken this trip two years in a row with large family groups (about 25-30 people) with small children and loved it both times. Capt. Steve is awesome with the kids, very personable and willing to accommodate your group. We stopped for swimming two times and the everyone loved the plank, jumping off and swimming. It was terrific. The lovely shore area is perfect for relaxing before or after your trip. Bring lots of water to keep hydrated, stereo system on board too so bring a playlist. Great fun, highly recommend!!!

The highlight of a recent trip to eagle river. The pirate ship is great. The kids loved it. Bring a suit so you can walk the plank. We had to supply our own food and drink so plan ahead.

we had an excellent "sail" with the pirates hideway boat on the Eagle River Chain of lakes. Steve, the captain was very sweet, and drew magic marker tatoos on any and all willing participants. the most adventurous got a chance to walk the plank and to take a jump in the lake.. very fun.. the boat was very smooth sailing even during some wind. i recommend this attraction. it is not very widely advertised and word of mouth is what brings people to this very sweet and safe outing. Groups are welcome to book as well as individuals. fee is very reasonable and makes it affordable.

Stopped in via boat to get the kids some ice cream. What a great place! Kids hoola hooped in the large grass area. Outdoor tiki bar as well. Also available are Pirate boat rides for large groups, although we do not do this on this trip, those who did had a ball.

We were looking for a boat ride on the chain of lakes and found Pirate's Hideaway through the Chamber of Commerce. We took the pirate ship boat ride (their only one) and had a BLAST! We were out on the lake doe 2 hours and never had a dull moment. Plus, the price was so reasonable-$15 each! Plus, every part of the boat trip was above and beyond. Steve and his son exerted so much extra effort For $15 you get lemonade and popcorn, kids get a customized tattoo drawn by Mr.. Steve, my daughter was allowed to steer the boat, patrons jumped into the water by walking the plank, there was a pretend steering wheel that the kids could play with. Mr.Steve and his son were the best hosts, chatting with everyone.I highly, highly recommend, even if kids aren't with you. There also were many different-sized hula hoops strewn across the lawn. Most kids couldn't resist and had to try the hula hoops at least once.I highly recommend.

Heard about this from a friend, but didn't plan far enough ahead to get on an actual boat tour (next time, for sure!). Regardless, we were able to hang at the Tiki Bar, play with hoola hoops on the beach, and once the boat returned from its trip the captain (donned in a pirate cap, of course) let us on board (for free) to explore and take photos. We can't wait to return to Eagle River for an actual pirate voyage (there is a cost to a boat ride tour)! Captain Steve told us they have lemonade and popcorn on board, and you can purchase other drinks at the Tiki Bar before boarding if you want to bring something else. When the ship rolled in, a bubble machine was leaving a trail of bubbles behind the boat as a crowd of happy adults and kiddos disembarked. I asked random guests if they recommended the trip, and everyone gave very positive reviews. We heard you even get to walk the plank!

a sunset ride on a pirate ship thru the lakes of eagle river. the captain knows the waters well, as he shows you the sights from the water. we stopped in the middle of eagle lake and the boys spent 1/2 hour taking turns walking, diving, flopping off the plank. the girls watched while sipping beverages of their choice, and the seagulls circled above us. theres is music to listen to or you can bring your own, as well as refreshments of your choice. the little guys were able to shoot water at passing boats or the boys in the water. it was a very relaxing and enjoyable time for everone. there is a ice cream shop and a tiki bar and grill where the ship is docked so you are in no hurry to leave. this is the 3rd year we have been here and its not the last, and every year there are more of us

A ride on the pirate ship in Eagle RIver is a fantastic way to spend time with a group or lg family-for a reasonable price!. As Relaxing or as happening as YOUR group wants it to be. 2 hours sailing the chain, We took a 7pm trip and Capt. Steve anchored in Eagle Lake where we jumped in the lake from the plank! He stragetically placed the ship so we had a sunset background for our pics of the kids 'walking the plank'. We were lucky enough to have the company of another member of the Pirate's Family who entertained the group with her iluminated hula hoop. She was awesome and took time to teach those interested some moves. Our group of 13 was ready to party- we were able to enjoy some SPIRITS! without the worry of DUI on the water! The ship has all the decor and some guests even dress up in pirate garb. Family wants this to be an annual event! Reasonable price; friendly personable hosts [the Strauss Family] and after we returned to the Pirates Hideaway we had our option of either visitng the Tiki Bar or the Ice Cream Shoppe and hung out around the bon fire. A must event for anyone visiting the chain of lakes of Eagle River. ARRRR!!!!
