My friends and I are touring Wisconsin spas and enjoyed our time in Green Lake. The lobby was warm and inviting with the fireplace and sheepskin chairs. The staff was very pleasant. We enjoyed the relaxation room, the steam room and the waterfall hot tub. The staff kept mentioning how busy it was that weekend, but frankly we did not feel that way at all. There was never not enough space or a crowded feeling. The only thing we thought was a bit different was the labyrinth. It was located in the middle of the spa and while it was a lovely room, it did not offer any privacy from people entering the spa or from those moving from the relaxation room to the locker rooms.

I see you wrote a review for both the resort and the spa – thank you! As mentioned earlier, guest feedback is always welcome and appreciated. I am sorry to hear you were slightly disappointed with your spa visit – I can understand how feeling “cold” is not a great way to relax at what should be a warming experience. We apologize for this and hope you choose to return to enjoy a spa day as it should be.

It's beautiful and worth every penny. You can expect less from a high end spa as Evensong. The best way to treat yourself after a long week, or if you just want to get away (all amenities are offered with any service you book). I like to come early, enjoy the whirlpools and steam room, get a massage and top it off with an ultimate smoothie in the relaxation room. That's a perfect day!

The Evensong Spa is a gorgeous facility, with all the amenities you would expect from a high end spa. After checking in, I was directed to the waiting area which looked out onto the golf course. I reclined back in a comfy lounge chair with a ice cold water in hand and relaxed until my attendant came and got me. I received the ultimate pedicure and it was extremely relaxing. It was an hour long and included all the bells and whistles you would expect, although I've received the same service from previous spas for a considerable lower cost. I assume I am also paying for the atmosphere and "those amenities". The girl who did my nails was nice and efficient and I appreciated her skill. I was surprised an 18% gratuity was automatically added to my bill which didn't leave it to me to decide if the service I received was worth that or not. Maybe that's how things are done at spas these days; not sure. But overall, it was a nice treat to give myself and would recommend them.

This was my first visit to this spa. I have had several friends who go regularly and talked me into going with them for a visit. We went during the week and I would recommend going at this time as the spa was not overly crowded. As it was my first visit our group received the grand tour.I was very surprised at how spacious and thoughtful the layout of the spa was. There is a beautiful indoor labyrinth that you can walk while you are there. Our attendant explained it is there for relaxation or meditation if guests choose to walk it. I must say it was a very relaxing experience. We decided to order lunch ahead of time so it would be ready after our treatments were finished. Lunch was served right on time and was wonderful. I had the Evensong Salad which is a mixture of cheese, fruit, nuts and chicken salad. The other dishes my friends enjoyed looked delicious too. For my services I chose their signature Innerjourney massage it was wonderful! They place heated stones on your body during the massage and it made me feel like I was melting into the massage bed. I had about an hour in between my services and I spent the time in the hot tub. They also have a steam room you can use too. The locker room was very well stocked with towels and lotions etc. My facial was the best I have ever had. My facialist was very knowledgeable and educated me in how to take better care of my skin. They use an organic line called Eminence wow - I actually bought a few products to use at home and I love them! Overall I was very impressed with the service I received. The staff make you feel comfortable and seem like they really enjoy what they do. I must admit I was hesitant at first to go with my friends as the prices of the services are higher than the day spa I usually go to but I feel that the service I received were well worth it. I am told they run some pretty good special offers and will be checking their website to see when they are.

My friends and I were AMAZED when we arrived at the Evensong Spa. It was an awesome building and the inside was even more amazing.. The staff was very professional, attentive and polite. We took advantage of the special offers they had for massages and facials.. We loved every minute of it!! The products they use are organic, they smell amazing and felt wonderful.. They also offer lunch. We ordered veggie wraps, smoothies and desert! The food was great!! Very clean facility. We also enjoyed their steam room and waterfall whirlpool. Can not wait to come back!

I booked a weekend at Heidel House resort and received a special 100$ voucher and 20% off coupon to the spa. To my surprise, they let me use the two in tandem! The spa is beautiful--please rememember to come early so you can get in the zone! They give you a robe, slippers, access to a steam room, hot tub, very peaceful "laborynth" path. Everything is very high quality and aesthetically pleasing. I really enjoyed the steam room.My massage was 50 minutes as advertised, maybe longer since the massage therapist came and got me early. The massage was INCREDIBLE I splurged the FIVE extra dollars to get the Inner journey masssage instead of the Swedish massage. You get to pick a scent for the oil they use---ALL were amazing--I chose Oolong. I feel amazing! Relaxation lounge, cafe, and ameneties I mentioned before are all available after the massage as well.

A group of friends and I drove 1 1/2 hours for a "spa day." I reserved the 50 minute "Inner Journey Massage," plus a 15 minute add-on service the "Tranquility Scalp Treatment." I received a 50 minute services. I asked the individual doing the massage a couple time prior to the service about the add-on service and he said that it was all incorporated in to the massage. After the service I spoke with an employee. I realized that they thought my add-on service was the "Aromatic Hot Towel Treatment," since no scalp treatment was done at all. I also asked about why it was still only 50 minutes. She said that she has tried explaining to the massage therapists that people think they will get more time, but that they need to get to the next appointments. So, she said that the massage therapists need to rush the massage in order to incorporate both the massage and the add-on service into the 50 minutes. I would have rather just had a massage, rather than a rushed service that then was bad overall. It was not a good experience. Why would anyone pay additional money for an "add-on" service if there is no additional time added? The marketing of these services is poor. We had lunch at the spa. The food was served to us (cold soup, but good), but there was no follow-up regarding our lunch the entire hour we were eating, although they automatically add 18% gratuity to the bill. My friend ordered the chocolate & berries dessert, and there were not berries. They did then charge her less,indicating that the cafe has now changed this menu item, but when she ordered the dessert no mention was made of this change.There are limited staff. We had to wait 10 minutes to pay, as there were no employees at the front desk. Finally, one of my friends went into the locker room to find a staff person to help us. After this experience, it makes me wonder if the spa is having financial difficulty, as the staff seemed stretched pretty thin. Or, perhaps it was just the off-season staffing. The staff working the front desk were also handling the locker rooms. The staff were polite and nice to us, just stretched thin.The facility is absolutely gorgeous. A beautiful location and a beautiful facility. Prior to our services (but once we arrived) my friends and I discussed coming back for an overnight because we were so excited about what seemed like such a quality facility. After we left, we realized we need to keep searching for a better spot. The hot tub & steam room were great, but overall the experience was not worth the money. Not bad overall, but when you spend money for a luxury service, you expect better customer services and services.

BEFORE: I went several times to Evensong in the year or so after it opened (we have a cottage in the Green Lake area) but I stopped going altogether because while the facilities are extremely well-done, I found the services (nail salon, massage) very poor quality considering the price. If you build a high-end looking spa, the quality of services better be high end, too. That was NOT the case for a long time. AFTER: This week I was given an 80-minute massage as a birthday present. Have to admit given my past experience I was not expecting too much. This time, I was really pleased. The massage therapist (a woman named Jamie I think) was excellent. Great massage pressure, hit all my trouble spots, didn't chit chat, and I came out of there feeling much more relaxed, looser and calm.For 80 minute massage the cost was $150. Make sure you come early or stay later to make use of the other amenities incl steam room and hot tub. This time the service lived up to the sophisticated physical space (great locker room, hot tub, relaxation room, restaurant) of Evensong. Much improved!

I was treating myself as we were up at the Heidel House celebrating our 10 year anniversary. We got married here on March of '03. In light of that, I treated myself and booked the following: Evensong Total Body ReliefOur signature treatment will nourish, detoxify and completely renew your body and mind. Begin with a lemongrass green tea body exfoliating treatment followed by an application of warm mineral rich Sedona Mud blended with aromatherapy oils. You are then wrapped comfortably while you experience a soothing cold stone facial massage. Afterwards you are treated to a 30-minute Heated Stone Massage, carrying you away to experience marvelous restorative and healing effects. 90 minutes ~ $215 (includes complimentary spa access)The gal who checked me in was nice and gave me a tour. I read a magazine in the relaxation room while waiting. It's a beautiful room with a nice view, but a little too bright to be relaxing - especially after a service when you are in a dark room. My therapist, WILL, did a GREAT job - even after admitting he was a massage therapist and a novice at the other parts of my service. He made me feel very comfortable and draped me very well and was curteous. The body scrub was nice, but I thought there would be more scrubbing. It was kind of wiped on rubbed in a vey little - and removed with hot, wet towels. That part was great! Then came the mud - he painted it on with a paintbrush - which was different and kind of neat. Not sure if I would have liked it rubbed on by hand better - since I can't compare. I di NOT like The mud itself. It was pepperminty, and had a cooling effect. By the end of the mud application i was freezing - even though i was wrapped up. (There were wet towels under me and over me from the sugar scrub). While the mud was on I was wrapped up and a short facial cold stone massage was given (emphasis on short)The mud was removed with warm towels (nice). Then there was supposed to be a 30 min hot stone massage - but it actually was just a mini hot stone massage on my back and backs of my legs. I am unsure if it was 30 minutes -- but it did not feel Iike it for just those three areas. The spa itself was nice, but the relaxing room was WAY too bright. There were not many products in the locker room to use, and the showers were nicely tiled - but regular shower heads. Not impressed with that. When I checked out, she asked how it was - explained the issue with the mud - she said they are in-between mudds, waiting for the new one to come in. I told her that didn't matter since I was there today :) All in all, for 200.00 it was ok - I expected more - and did not feel like package was all it was written up to be. If threre is a next time, I would just do a regular massage (and ask for Will :)
