This is the best movie theatre in Hanover. Maintained really well and is always playing the latest movies. The hours are always decent as well, although wish they had some earlier times some days.
I love this theater. It's clean and the staff is friendly. Seats are comfortable and they have the DBox chairs, too!Don't expect lots of food choices, just your regular popcorn, nachos and candy. Also, the crowds are usually thin because they have so many theaters and the patrons are very nice.
clean...well staffed...good seats...reasonable price. Movie selection is mainstream (no edgy or arty films) with all the major studio releases on the national release date. This is a first rate theatre
This has 16 theaters to present whatever you want to see. Several of the theaters have the 'fun' chairs to make your movie experience the best!
We went to see Maleficent which was the best and we had no problems except a broken seat. It wasn't crowded or loud because not many people were there.
R/C Hanover 16 is our go-to movie theatre in the area. It’s definitely the better choice over the Regal Cinema in Westminster, Maryland.Management appears to have made some changes since my last review (i.e. I didn't seen any of the employees texting and ignoring customers and the theaters were cleaner than they had been when I first reviewed Hanover R/C 16)Pros: 1. Plenty of parking2. Self-serve ticket machine3. First run movies4. Stadium seating (including the new DBOX seats)5. Seats are comfortable6. State of the art sound system7. Very good picture quality8. Multiple bathrooms that are usually fairly clean9. Plentiful show times for popular movies (large complex lets allows them to run near back to back showings)10. Staff is generally polite and helpful11. The R/C reward program gives real rewards - like free popcorn, movies and sodas. A definite perk.Cons: 1. Sometimes pretty long lines form at the ticket window, which can be bypassed by using the self-serve ticket machine2. As noted by other reviewers, the prices do seem high (especially DBOX and the concessions) but like other movie theatres, this is a business and they need to pay their bills.3. DBOX is worth trying at least once, but is not worth paying the extremely high premium unless it’s the right movie (some movies simply don’t take advantage of the technology). For example, Godzilla made pretty decent use of DBOX but Hunger Games really didn't take advantage of the DBOX technology (which was a waste of good money)4. Sound system. If you are sensitive to very loud sound, be advised that the audio in the DBOX equipped theatre often needs adjustment (think jet engine loud) as it will come on very high (several people complained during Godzilla and is this is the second time I’ve seen people complain about the very loud volume in that particular theatre). It's not the technology either - it's simply the volume level that they have it set at (but they will adjust if it is unpleasing). We have had no problems with the sound in the other, non-DBOX theaters.Summary: R/C Hanover is our theatre of choice. It is state of the art, comfortable, generally clean and we find it worth making the short ride up from Maryland.
This movie theater is clean and a bathroom is always close by. We have other theater options in Gettysburg but always prefer to go to RC. If you buy tickets on Fandango.com, make sure that you take a screenshot of the purchase or copy the info. We've bought tickets on Fandango 3 times now and every time this place has trouble bringing it up with the credit card. I don't recommend the DBox seats. Went to see the Hunger Games and the chair moves and your butt vibrates. Not worth the extra $$$.
I live in Hampstead, Md and I prefer this movie theater over the one in Westminster or the one in Hunt Valley. It's always clean.....the employees are friendly and it's never very crowded....yes as others have stated the food is overpriced BUT aren't all movie theaters selling overpriced food...buy your tickets on Fandango and print them out in the lobby!!
This is a very nice movie theatre and it is always clean and the staff are generally welcoming. Seats are extremely comfortable, there is never a crowd. If you go early enough in the day the prices are comparable to the theatres in York, PA. They have the standard movie theatre food options but the soft pretzel bites are tasty with the warm cheese dip.
Seats are comfortable, never a crowd, back from the highway and somewhat hard to find. Unfortunately not linked in with the R/C theater on Highway 15 in Gettysburg so whatever points earned at this location can not be combined with those from the other R/C theaters.
Disliked the prices, we don't go to the movies that often and are always surprised by the prices, since were from out of town do not know when the early bird pricing to see a movie times are. I know that there are times to see movies earlier and the addmission is cheaper. But overall good place to watch a movie when it is raining out. Otherwise we are at the races..
I have never been to the place and experieces loud, rambunctious crowds. It is always so quiet and my husband and I love going here. I just think the bathrooms could use some updating.
Hanover 16 is a decent place to see a movie but they do have very young staff members that are sometimes inattentive. For example, the folks in line literally had to wait for the young girl in the ticket booth to finish her texting before she took ticket order – texting on the job –really - where are the managers in this place? Got sick of waiting on the long line (which wasn't moving) so we used the self-serve ticket machine and had our tickets in less than 90 seconds – which was very nice. The theatre was generally clean (floor was a little sticky). Bathrooms were very clean. Ticket prices average for the area. Concessions were fair (popcorn was cold and old) and overpriced like most theatres but there are plenty of places nearby to eat before or after the show – giving this location an edge over Franks Theatres in Gettysburg. The theatres with equipped with new seats are very comfy . The theatres with the older seats aren’t bad. Overall a decent place to see a movie
The smell was so horrible I got a refund and left before the movie began. I know this may have been a one time thing but they should have cleaned the theatre between movies or even closed this particular one down temoprarily.
This is a nice movie theatre. Clean, new and the food is actually kind of good. My hubby takes my daughter there about twice a month and I go occasionally. I wish they made the popcorn fresh instead of making it in bulk and then keeping it in a warmer .... but I guess they wanna avoid long wait lines. I recommend this place.
