We took our nine year old granddaughter while she was visiting us for a few days. I had read mixed reviews, but still felt I wanted to check the place out. I am glad we did. We had a lot of fun. The best way to describe this place is that it is an interactive museum. There is a lot to read if you are interested in history and background information. You will learn the story of the family who founded Turkey Hill, the general history of the area, and detailed history of milk production and distribution. My granddaughter quickly tired of the reading and wanted to get to the areas where she could have some fun. There were a few separate areas with educational interactive displays, including the home delivery of milk, Turkey Hill Teas and the process of making ice cream. The best part was as you learned about the making of ice cream, you used their computers to create a virtual ice cream. You virtually mixed the ingredients to create your own flavor, then designed the packaging and finally made a commercial. Your creations are put on their website for two months and you are given a code to access your recipe, packaging and commercial. You can also download these items onto your home computer. My commercial was hilarious and I posted it on Facebook where my family and friends enjoyed my humor. The lab was closed for six weeks for renovations, but when we take our other granddaughter in a couple of months, we will get to hand mix our own ice cream and taste it right there. There were unlimited samples of Turkey Hill Ice Creams, Teas and Lemonades. I found I have a new favorite drink - Turkey Hill Mango Lemonade. We took our time as we went on a weekday in February and it was not crowded. We stayed for almost two hours. I'm glad we went.

Greetings, Thank you for taking the time to write your Fun & Yummy review. The CYO codes at THE can only accept one email at a time. To receive three different emails you would need three different emails. Unfortunately, this is out of my control but if you send me your CYO information I would be more than happy to send you a link to all your creations. On behalf of the THE team I would like to invite your family back to recreate your commercials and join in the fun. I know NJ is not a day trip so I would be willing to send you tickets with a five year expiration date. I look forward to hearing from you soon. I loved the fact that I could try the different drinks that Turkey Hill has... found my new favorite to be honest! Then I made my own ice cream that was pretty amazing. I didn't have kids with me but continued to think of how fun this place would be with kids because it was very kid friendly & had a lot of activities for kids but I had a blast either way.

Educational & fun! Two great-granddaughters were free. They were entertained & of course they loved the free ice cream.

Nice place to visit to learn about not only Turkey Hill but ice cream as well. And there are samples of ice cream to be had. Lots of hands on things to do for the young and young at heart.

I'm definitely not agreeing with the reviewer that said there is not alot to do. My kids who generally rush to see things then rush out stayed for three hours. You can create your ice cream, create packaging for the ice cream, record a commercial, play in a ball pit, eat all the ice cream you want and many other activities. The admisson price is reasonable and the gift shop souvenirs are reasonably priced.Free parking and very easy to get to off route 30.Will definitely go back again.

With some time to kill on a Sunday, we decided to try the Turkey Hill Experience. Yes, they mean unlimited samples. They gave decent sized scoops but we were still not discouraged from going up and getting more. We learned about the history of Turkey Hill as well as how ice cream is made. It's very interactive which is good for kids. There are games and a ball pit as well. Getting to create my own flavor was the highlight. For $9.95 (we did NOT do the taste lab) I'd recommend this.Tips:- Yes, they mean unlimited ice cream, so save room to try a variety of flavors...- If loading up on ice cream isn't your thing, you can sample unlimited iced tea as well-There is a discount if you buy a ticket with a ticket to the National Clock Museum (just down the street). The Clock Museum is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Turkey Hill is a fun place to visit to learn about how ice cream is made. They have lots of hands on activities to make learning fun. You can milk a (fake) cow, play video games, and children under 6 can play in the ball pit. The taste lab is a must. In the taste lab you are able to make your own ice cream flavor and eat it! Janett did a great job of giving the presentation / instructions at the lab today.

Thank you for visiting the Turkey Hill Experience and Taste Lab. The team at THE values everyone’s feedback and I would like to speak to you about your visit. THE has over 15 interactive exhibits and unlimited sampling. I would be more than happy to give you and your children a personal tour of THE on your next visit to Lancaster, PA. Look forward to hearing from you soon. Regards, Rebecca Carrollrebecca.carroll@turkeyhill.com717.684.0134 ext 101

A interesting place to bring the kids. There's a self guided tour which gives you the history of the area and the family owned business. You can get free samples of Turkey Hill ice cream and ice tea. You can also design your own flavor ice cream and for an extra fee have it mixed and packaged for you. There's a small store to purchase Turkey Hill items.

I was in the area on a business trip and was looking for something to do on a cold snowy Sunday in January. Not much is open. For less than $10, I enjoyed some really good ice cream and learned about Turkey Hill and a little about the community. Most of the activities are geared towards kids but I enjoyed them. Activities include: pretending to milk a cow, asteroid type game where you shoot at the bad bacteria, slide, knobs to turn and simulate ice cream making and the ability to make your very own Turkey Hill commercial. This is not a factory tour and the ice cream and other products are not made at this location, it is more like a museum type atmosphere in a cool old Mill building. I was not able to make my own flavor since all the sessions had been booked that day by groups but I can imagine that it would be cool to do that. For the price of admission, I think it was a good value and a nice way to spend a couple of hours on a cold winter Sunday.

My wife and I went here on a whim as we've passed it many times going from Baltimore to "Amish Country" in Intercourse, PA. We do not have any kids but love Turkey Hill Ice Cream. The taste lab was sold out when we got there in the early afternoon but we still had a really good time touring everything. Tons of kids but most seemed pretty well behaved considering they were getting sugar rushes of unlimited samples. BTW, the samples of ice cream you get are pretty generous, I'd say about 1/2 cup size. It's a full 1 scoop full. The drink samples were good size as well. We would only return if family members with kids invited us to do so. It does have plenty of history of the dairy and information on the production of their products displayed throughout the exibit area and even out in the general area. As another reviewer stated you should try and get there as they open because it gets very busy. Overall glad they put this old building to such a good, clean, fun operation!

Thank you for taking the time to write about your Turkey Hill Experience. At Turkey Hill we do not require adults in the Taste Lab and I would like to apologize on behalf of the team for the confusion. THE will have a coaching meeting with all staff to ensure this does not happen again to another guest. Please contact me at your convince I would like the opportunity to return your adult ticket to the Taste Lab. Looking forward to speaking to you in the near future.Regards, Rebecca Carroll717.684.0134 ext 101rebecca.carroll@turkeyhill.com

I visited recently and found it better than I had expected. It was rather dull at moments, however the taste lab is a must!! Without that it would have been boring for me, however kids would love it! The taste lab allows adults and ice cream lovers to create the flavor of their dream..and with the base being turkey hill vanilla it was delicious!
