A great way to see the charming community of Plymouth. Super fun and easy to master. A great date night idea or family outing. We were able to use a Groupon so it made it very cost effective.
We have risen Segway's before in downtown Dallas and St Louis. Tried this because of a Groupon special for $27 each. After a brief introduction, we were given a map of the town and had the rest of the hour to find our way back. We felt very safe in this town. The only reason I gave it four stars was that viewing the beautiful homes was fine for my husband and myself but our teenagers were bored. The Segway place is located in a nice Sun and Surf sporting store. There is a Panera's and Starbuck's across the street. They have us a 10% off card for a couple restaurants but we ate at Ironwood next door which was excellent. Overall, loved the quaint town of Plymouth.
Hubby and i scored a pair of Groupons for a great Segway adventure in Plymouth. Alex was our trainer and tour guide of Plymouth, and he did a fantastic job speeding us around town to view the lovely, well-manicured neighborhoods of this friendly locale. Riding a Segway became almost as natural as walking after just a few minutes of acclimation to the machine, and then we sped along, conversing as we went, for an unforgettable hour. Thanks, Alex Watson, for a fantastic time. We give you four thumbs up!
Today I rented a Segway for my friend and I. I had gotten the rental through Groupon.com. It cost $25.00 a person. I think the most recent one I saw was $27.00. You enter the Sun & Snow Sports store in downtown Plymouth, MI at 388 S Main St, Plymouth, MI 48170. At the rear of the store is a desk for you to pay for your taxes on the rental, sign the waiver form and then grab a helmet. After that you go out front and the instructor will show you how to operate the Segway. It takes less then 5 minutes to learn and then off you go. Since it was our first time we took 10 minutes or so to practice in front of the store. We also requested that Arianna accompany us.It was quite fun but I really suggest you wear comfortable padded shoes as when you go over bumps it is a little jarring on your feet. We took our tour through the local neighborhood and saw some beautiful Victorian homes. I think you can also go on a tour of a park as well. I guess that will be for next time. I think the sign up and practice usually takes 15 minutes and you get 45 minutes of riding time.Plymouth has many restaurants in the downtown area so you could easily have lunch or dinner afterwards. I chose to get my first frozen yogurt flurry of the season at Dairy King (232 S Main St, Plymouth, MI 48170)
The segway tour was really fun. We got to pick the kind of tour that we wanted (around town, through the park, etc.). The tour guide, Arianna, was wonderful. She gave each one of us helpful riding tips!! I would definitely put this on your bucket list. It is a great activity to do with adult children. Fun, fun, fun!!
