We lived in Tupelo for 15 years and this was always my favorite park. There are walking paths and picnic areas and play grounds and even skate boarding areas. A small lake/pond has ducks and their babies. It is well maintained and I try to visit it each time we go back. It is a most relaxing place. At holidays, esp. July 4th, they have wonderful things happening on the grounds.
Gab a bag of stale bread and the grands and head to Ballard Park for a fun day. Feed the ducks! Playground available. Bring picnic lunch to enjoy in the shade of southern pines.
Walking trails around a beautiful pond with ducks, swing sets and slides, great pavillions and grills for cookouts, soccer fields, and a skateboard park are all offered at this park. Most of the park is shaded. Outdoor concerts are held at Ballard Park and outdoor movies. There are many events held at this beautiful park.
We moved near Ballard park in March and it's one of the best features of our area of town. We love watching the ducks and walking our dog there. It's always neat to see kids skateboarding and playing soccer too. You can even see people doing renaissance rein acting sometimes if their club is meeting there! People fish for free too!
Nice place to go and unwind. The ducks loved to be fed bread and most lol are friendly. Great play area for little kids. Love to just walk around and relax.
I was surprised to discover a cute little museum and quality Veteran Museum at this park. Staff are very friendly and the park had interesting things to see. A nice family friendly place that is not overwhelming in size.
Beautiful park with lots of nature, walking trails, even a little vendor stand, park for the kids, lots of picnic tables and even a skateboarding ramp, an ampitheater; absolutely with my town had a place like Ballard Park!
This was "the place" to use swing sets and pond fishing when the kids were little. Ducks abound with a paved walking trail. It is part of a much larger complex of soccer fields and adjacent baseball park. Covered pavilion. See Tupelo Parks and Rec for info.
This place is beautiful. The ducks are so friendly! Make sure to bring bread to feeds these kind creatures. They are sure to make you smile. Ballard Park also provides many nice shows and programs for free as well!
Well maintained lake which is full of duck and geese, encompassed by an enormous walking track. My children love to feed the ducks and then swing on the playground equipment. In addition, the Oren Dunn museum is located within the park. Great museum which is full of Tupelo History. All of the cities soccer fields and new baseball complex is located just to the south within the park. The park also features a skateboard park. Well maintained, clean, family fun.
I live in Tupelo, and would refer anyone to Ballard Park, maybe just to feed the ducks or take their children there, It is an all around great place to spend the day!
Tupelo has worked hard to upgrade this park with soccer fields and many other areas of interest. The lake still holds the eye but as population grows more room will be needed. Nice area for a afternoon out.
This is a city park that is a baseball/ soccer complex. It is kept up very well. There is also a very beginner friendly disc golf course and a couple of playgrounds.
Great venue, very clean and lots of fields with ample parking. Although the lighted lacrosse field was short, the turf was well maintained.
