Although we visited the winery in the middle of February when the ground was snow covered we really enjoyed ourselves. The young woman that was serving the wine during our tasting was very knowledgable about the wines. The wines that we sampled were mostly white which is what we prefer. We purchased to bottles of wine to take home and enjoy. When we were done with the tasting we decided to sit by the fireplace and relax a bit. We were the only people there and the hostess that served the wine came to talk with us. She was so lovely and gave us a suggestion to take a drive to Westery and Watch Hill. We took her advice and we were very pleased. We hope to return to the winery in warmer weather to partake in one of the festivals they host.

There are some places where you leave, and feel compelled to write about your experience... good or bad.. and Stonington Vineyards was that wonderful! We are local to the area and had such a lovely time here, the tasting room is beautiful, and the wines are really fantastic. We had such a nice time speaking with the lady in the Tasting Room... she was informative, funny, and you could tell she was proud of the job they do! I highly recommend this Vineyard if you are in the area. Sometimes people think wine=stuffy, and here that is so not the case.... very welcoming and truly, quality wines! Bring snacks too if you remember!

Beautiful setting, some wonderful wines, very friendly and informative staff.Wish there were more tables and chairs in their beautiful, spacious tasting room.

I am a sweet, white wine drinker. This was the perfect place for me. I liked it so much that we bought a case of wine and we anticipate going back next week. We drove over an hour and visited three wineries; this was our favorite.

Beautiful location... The tasting room has just recently been re-done and they're still finishing a few updates. This is one of the only wineries I've been to where I actually liked all of the wines they had to offer. My husband and I bought two bottles of our favorite. The staff was very nice and knowledgable. By far our favorite winery in the area!

This has been my favorite winery for a few years, even before the remodel. I have always believed they have some of the best wines on the trail and became a "cellar" member on my first visit. My last visit however was horrible. The staff seemed confused, and the service was just plain insulting. From the moment I arrived it was busier than I expected, but the problem was that the staff was clearly unable to handle it. I was in a great mood and had been looking forward to getting over there for weeks, but all the staff could do is walk around and tell everyone that there was a private event later that evening and everyone has to be gone! This went on the whole visit and after spending over $200.00 on a case of wine the only thing I wanted to do was sit on their porch overlooking the vines and enjoy like I have done before, but the staff was relentless in chasing everyone from the property-they were ridiculous. If you want to have a private event, no problem here....but don't make it my problem...and the staff did. They clearly had too much anxiety and were below the standard I have experienced in the years past.

We enjoyed our visit to the Winery. The sampling includes 7 different wines and a glass to take home with you for $12.00. The view is very nice and peaceful

Have been there before but not since they totally redesigned their tasting room. Very nice people and a good white wine slection. Surprised that there were no tables inside to sit and have a glass of wine. Tables are outside but it was a cold rainy day.

Nice weekend day trip from MA (90minutes). Nice, personable server. Knew the wines. Nice choice of whites. Ended up buying a nice rose. A bit rushed. Can imagine this being awesome in summer, with lawn chairs overlooking the vineyard. Part of the CT wine trail.

This was Kens 1st vineyard visit. And the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. We got to see the process of the beginnings of this the wine making. We walked the property to the beginning of the vines, the season of our visit (Fall) was amazing also to see the foliage. With the depth of the vineyard running into the gorgeous trees it was breath taking. Their seaport white wine is sweet and sooth a definite good choice. Also they have for purchase a wooden cutting board with cutting utensils beneath the board great buy. I purchased the same elsewhere for double the price. We had a romantic fun and memorable time.

We visited some wineries in the area the last weekend of September when the weather was absolutely gorgeous, which only added to ambiance of wine tasting. Let me start by saying I think wine tasting prices in CT are expensive, but that's the way wineries here operate.. I forget the actual price, but we did get the couples rate, which I believe was $12.00 or $14.00 for six wines and you get to keep you glass. Being at the end of the season there were no events going on and it was not too crowded so we were able to get in and out rather quickly. My wife is the wine expert and is more knowledgeable about different wines. I lean towards the more sweeter German and New Zealand (local, not the imported brands) Rieslings. However, I personally found most of the wines we tasted not too dry and not too sweet. In other words, I enjoyed our tasting experience. My wife also found the wines to her liking. We bought one bottle. The purchase prices were very reasonable.

We just happened upon the festival by accident. It was fun, the food vendors were good but the wine was a bit disappointing.

We headed to Stonington Vineyards after leaving Jonathan Edwards, a short drive. We were greeted by Nancy, who was amazingly pleasant and very welcoming. The grounds were beautiful. Nancy told us they had a wedding the previous day and apologized for the workers taking down the tent. We bought 2 bottles of wine, 2 glasses and two tastings, for $80. I would gladly return. Cheers to Nancy!!!!

This was the second stop on my friend’s birthday wine tasting weekend. The grounds were scenic and the tasting room was spacious, airy and beautiful. Although the tasting room was slightly busy, a woman quickly greeted us and gladly ran a tasting. She was friendly, talkative and very helpful. I’m not a huge fan of white wines (love my reds) so I wasn’t too crazy about the wines, which were whites and roses, but my friends love white wines and said they were very delicious. I did like their “Seaport white” though which had a slight sweet note and was very very good. We got a bottle of the seaport white to have with our picnic lunch on the patio. The setting was beautiful and the wine was a great compliment to our lunch. We had a really great time here and would definitely recommend it to people for a day trip.
