Old Bedford School is a local asset for activities, concerts, weddings, meetings, theatre, and some museum interest. Open grassy grounds, lots of facilities for social functions.
This piece of history is a great attraction visit to anyone who lives in bedford or who are visiting! Take a tour of this refurbished school and you won't be disappointed!! Everything has been beautifully restored and next year is its 100th anniversary!
My family attended a wedding at The Old Bedford School in January and we were pleasantly surprised with the uniqueness of the place. The ceremony was held in a gorgeous restored auditorium upstairs and the reception downstairs in rooms with high ceilings and old wood floors. The most exciting part of the building is the 2 rooms they keep set up in museum style. One is set like a 1915 classroom and the other has artifacts dating back to the 1800's. The lady who worked there was so sweet to take my 9 year old twin daughters into both rooms and tell them the history of the city and the school itself. They LOVED it! I have driven past the building so many times and was amazed at what all they do here. If you have a chance to see inside the building you definitely should!
This is a fantastic old building. They have two rooms dedicated to displays about early life in Bedford. Upstairs they have some more great photos and a nice restored auditorium. They have a phone number to use to set up an appointment for a tour but getting someone to answer the phone can be a challenge.I’ve been here for classic movie night before which was a fun, cheap date night, though I wish they would pick some different movies but that is just my opinion. All in all a great historical building I just wish they made it more of a museum than a rental hall. The wear and tear on this place is unfortunately starting to show. They did a great job restoring this building; I don’t understand why they keep renting it out for weddings, etc. I mean they don’t rent out The Alamo do they?
