This museum is amazingly excellent for the size of community. Local history, many artifacts. Get off I35 and see it!

I have been to the Smithsonian and many in between: no small town has a better grasp of history than BCM!

I flew solo for the Dorothea Lange exhibit, and I was AMAZED by this little place! What a great museum! So great that I took my kids back for another exhibit a month later. They loved it too. The traveling exhibits and the permanent exhibits alike are geared to every age group. They are informative without being too haughty, and they are simple without being being dumbed down and simplistic. This museumIs a must see spot in Belton. It's small enough that you won't be there all day, and it's a lovely little piece of surprise culture where you least expect it.

Loved the museum and the layout. We thought we saw everything and then walked into another room which had another great exhibit. Don't miss this spot if you are in town.

A wonderful museum that has grown through the years. Military history covering local veterans. Local history of Bell County and Texas history. Within walking distance of some great places to eat on the creek.

World War II exhibit featuring local veterans and memorabilia. Professionally organized and displayed. Lots of permanent Bell County history. Don't miss Chisholm Trail bronze colomn exterior to museum on Main Street.

Great exhibits, lots of interesting information, good programs and it is free! Good for all ages. Very pretty building.

We really enjoyed this museum. It's free, easy to find, and the staff is friendly. There are 2 floors of well organized and impressive displays, especially for a smaller town. Our favorites included the "cotton picking" room where we heard an interview of a lady's actual pickin' days & felt the basket of real cotton. Also, the early Texas settlers room, old letters and belongings, and land grants. Our kids enjoyed trying the old water pump, chuck wagon, and locating the land grants using the map challenge. The log cabin is neat! It took us a little over 1 hour to tour the whole museum, and then visited the gift shop. So glad we stopped here while traveling through town! Shops and restaurants are nearby. Definitely would recommend this place.

The staff was very friendly, Went out of their way to explain items to me. They invited me back to see more of the collection for Ma and Pa Ferguson. The collection on the Sanctified Sisters was also very interesting, Please come out to see the Jewel sitting in your very own city. I want to come back to take the tour again. Thank you all for your hard work in putting it together for the public. Its Lovely.

This museum is just perfect for kids. It is not too big, not too small. It doesn't take too long to go through. The museum teaches about the local area, and Texas as a whole. The exhibits are well laid out and flow nicely. The staff is helpful. Plus, the admission is not too high.

We've been here twice and enjoyed ourselves both times. The staff are friendly and the exhibits are genuinely interesting and well done. I've taken my son and nieces/nephews and all have enjoyed the visit. Don't miss it!

This is a tiny museum but their exhibits are well done and pertained to the area. I saw quilt exhibit that was one of a number of local exhibits in the area at the time that were all coordinated. Great idea and would like to see more like it. The facility is in part of an old gas station that they have redone. The gift store is very nice with a number of gifts that even non locals would be interested in buying.

This is a great way to spend a few hot hours away from the summer heat. They have excellent exhibits year round and work very hard to include and hold onto children's interest. They work with several of the schools in the area to extend the learning opportunities. The museum is very interesting and definitely worth a visit when in the area. You will learn so much about the Bell County region, even if you've lived here your whole life. My favorite part is the mustache cup collection -- a must see!

We went to go see the WWII exibit, but got so much more out of it! The staff really took their time to talk to my daughter, and explain things to her.

A Hidden Jewel in Belton can be found in the Bell County Museum. The rotation of the permanent exhibits are marvelous---everytime we go there is something new. This time an excellent quilt exhibit and my grandkids love the Quannah and Cynthia Ann Parker story of two worlds. The added Native American displays from the museums's permanent collection made the traveling exhibit come alive. The Docents are really child friendly and make this a great place for kids to go, but don't expect ti get in until afternoon they aren't open in the morning.
