More places such as this should be available in every state. Great education for children and adults. 'Hands On' experience is so much better than a book in a class room. Something kids and adults never forget. I can't say enough great things about it. Please Create More Places Such As This. If I had the money I would create an Animal Sanctuary too! I have thought of building a Miniature Farm with Mini everything for kids to visit. Miniature Cattle, Sheep, and other miniatures from all over the world. Different and fun. Great 'Field Trip' for kids. Thanks So Much.
It was fun and the animals were up close and personal. We enjoyed the experience as a whole but I will warn you to take extra shoes (possibly change of clothes). You will probably have yucky shoes when you are done. It was also smaller than I expected.
It was a great experience for my whole family- a 15 year old, a 12 year old, and two adults. We really enjoyed our visit; it didn't take too long, and although it was hot, there was plenty of shade. They had a lot of cool animals that I'd never seen close up, and it was a great opportunity to take pictures. Some of the habitats seemed a bit small, but we were told that renovations and expansions were coming soon. I can't wait to go back and see what they've done with it! Going at feeding time was especially cool- check their website for times. There are also free presentations to see if you catch them- I got to pet a giant snake and a little pig!
I was expecting a dingy snake farm with a couple of petting zoos, I was completely wrong. This place has lions, wolves, bobcats, jaguars, and tons of birds and random aquatics. I was immensely surprised at the selection and how much better the view was compared to a zoo. Being that close to a lion was a little scary almost. They could work on beefing up their sitting/bench area. They should cater to parties more for kids, that is where the money is.
Even though the Snake Farm isn't very large its enough to hold the interest of kids for a couple hours. The staff does interactive talks with the patrons about different animals and during feeding time is the best to learn all about the animals. They really have a good variety of snakes but also outdoor animals too (Bison, Lions, Wolves etc). The grand kids always ask to go when they visit and are happy each time. The Snake Farm is planning to expand which will make it even better. Everyone is friendly and helpful making for a good day drip.
They had a fun variety of animals. Perfect for my 3 year old, rather than a large overwhelming zoo with a cost to match.
My daughter loves this place. She has had the chance to hold several of the boa's and other snake species, lizards and Iguanas and hand fed the deer. Spend a couple of hours and enjoy the day
I am not a snake fan but there is much more to this zoo than reptiles. The petting zoo feeding was especially fun. But don't forget to stop by and say hello to all the birds
Kinda Weird, but for a quick stop to amaze the kids and creep out the adults; it is worth it. This place has been in business since I was a kid, I am now 63. Couldn't resist and finally took my granddaughter on a whim. My wife couldn't stand it, I kinda was amused, and my granddaughter (5 years old) seemed to think the various beasts were interesing
This place exceeded my expectations. From the road it doesn't look as big as it really is. For me, 2 family members and 3 bags of food for the petting zoo it came came out to low $30's. Lots of snakes and animals I did not expect; lions, wolfs, zebras, camel, monkeys, hyena's and birds. Was there for about a hour and a half and they had 3 animal presentations; a lion feeding and questions, a snake presentation where you could hold the snake and take a picture with the snake, and a fox presentation where you could touch the Fox and take a picture. Family loved it. Great up close experience with all the animals.
Great place to see some amazing creatures at a good price. The price is good for the attractions. I prefer this place over the San Antonio zoo. Its more interactive and the animals are up close. Tons of snakes, turtles, and awesome mountain lions
We went here after we read some good reviews. I have to say that it was disappointing to say the least. We drove almost 2 hrs and paid more than the zoo to go see a few snakes and a few animals. They said they had shows but we waited and nothing. Took probably 30 mins to get through the whole thing. Animals but the monkeys seemed sad. Not a good experience for the price
We went yesterda with our 7 and 6 year olds. We had a great time lots of snakes. Had other animals wolves, different types of Monkeys, fennec fox, hyenas, and several more had a great petting zoo for the kids, friendly staff.
Love this place. Friendly staff. Zookeeper shows every 30 min. Many animals are hand fed. Get to pet, hold, and take pictures with the animals in the shows. Met the owner who has hugh renovation and expansion plans. Easy to do in two to three hours. Shaded walkways over 75% of the paths. Price is reasonable and they give you a buy one get one coupon on each visit. We went back to check on the baby white lions.
Large and exotic selection of snakes which had the kids fascinated. ..the zoo was small with a few exotic animals (and a sad looking lion). The pet feeding area was akin to a farm yard with only goats and such available to be fed.Highlight of the trip was the kids being allowed to pet and carry a real snake.Good fun albeit for not more than 45 mins tops.
