If you like long and tough this is your place to tee it up many things will make you shake your head and go really but in the end it will be what great day on the course
I've been coming here since it first opened!!Lovely course but quite difficult! Totally natural setting and tramping about off-course to fetch balls is against the rules as this is an Audobon course where the rough environment is protected as a natural area. See everything from roadrunners to coyotes while golfing.Nice restaurant on site makes a great place to bring a date for lunch or dinner.Driving range and putting and chipping greens. 3 hole Practice course is fantastic!! After paying for the practice course, you're allowed to go through twice for a total of 6 holes.
It is hard to find a course a nice as what Arlington has at Tierra Verde. The closest course to me to compare would be Bridlewood.Friendly staff. Fairway and greens were in very good shape. Well removed from most city noise.
The food here is very good. It is never busy. We go there often on a Saturday night and it's never busy unless they are having a rare specialty night. Call ahead because when they have a special night they will not let you order from the menu. Food is great, price is great, service is very slow but worth the wait.
Let's start by saying that in our area many of the courses lost their greens to last years' sudden freeze and have struggled to make a comeback. We are golfers and we understand that. By now all is well again.Tierra Verde is very nice an it has protected areas within the course by Audubon society which is good. You can see some wildlife including birds and bobcats. It is not an easy course and if one is a walker as we are , unfortunately, either carry your bag or ride but no pushcarts which is too bad. It is located a bit in the country but still quite accessible and very relaxing. Enjoy!
My 8 yr daughter plays with us. This location states 10+ yrs is acceptable for insurance reasons. The site does not advertise this so be aware. And the greens are HORRIBLE on this course at this time.
This is a decent course and I am sure much more than that when they get the greens fixed. I have played here a few times recently and like the challenge but as with a few of the courses in the area they are struggling with the greens this spring. The folks there are really friendly and the food at the grill is great.
Great course to play on. All the holes are a challange but not overly difficult (the back 9, I always play worse then the front). Nice greens, and well kept. The view at this course is great. Has a nice driving range, putting and short game area, and it has a nice 3 hole practice course.
Last year on Mother's Day my son made reservations for us at Tierra Verde, but i came down with the flu and was very disappointed i couldn't go. They were very understanding.. this year, thankfully, we got to go and boy was it good! Their beef tenderloin was just like a fancy restaurants, the weather was perfect so we got to eat outside, and the service was very nice (these are all mostly college/high school kids, so don't expect professional service like in hotels or expensive restaurants, but in our case they were just fine). the food was good and there was a great variety. I am glad they changed the chef because the original chef (or maybe the second chef?) wasn't that great. The food was only ok, and pretty expensive so i was pleasantly surprised that the food improved. I don't think the prices came down much, but at least you feel you get more for your meal. They have live music on Fridays on the patio, but in the summer it's so humid and hot even late at night that i will wait till fall.
Championship golf at public golf prices. On the high end of the price scale but the course is fun to play and a great challenge. Always enjoy returning to play here.
The food here is great- lunch and dinner. During the summer months they feature a "party on the patio" one Friday night each month with live music, cookout food and beverages but if you dine in the restaurant- it's really very tasty. The drive out there is out of the city and feels a little like country ;-)
