I've been to the old library with the old staff before as a child and it was memorable. As they built a new one and got new staffing I've got to say it is the worst upgrade ever. The staff are very rude careless and worthless. They don't assist helping to find specific books but are quick to direct you to the computers to search for yourself. They roll their eyes when you ask numerous questions about authors or subjects and related issues. It's not a very friendly environment. The set up inside is nice but overall it's pointless because of the unwilling staff.
For a small town library, Marshall Memorial is unusual. Located in a building with a long history, its always a pleasure to be within its walls. There is an excellent childrens' room, and the Historical collection is housed in a space with real decor...beamed ceiling with real old trees, not some fake material. As mentioned in my comments about the Museum, this was once Mimbres country; years later after their departure it became Apache country. All that history is available in the historic collection.
The library is clean and the staff is friendly. They have a variety of books here. Also during the summer months, they have several activities for kids such as magic shows, puppet shows, and volunteers read to the children. It's a nice "hometown" library.
This library has a friendly staff, helpful with the passwords and escort you to a wonderful area to plug in and stay awhile.Nice entrance with the New Mexico symbol in the colorful tile work.
This was a great library at one time. The Southwest room was extraordinary, it was located down on Tin Street. City became very involved and it has suffered enormously. Now is mediocre at best... what happened to all the wonderful books on the southwest? Don't recommend, it is middle of the road, small town disappointment at best. Was at one time dynamite, but things do change.
