When we go here we have atmosphere we have good food and when we catch them on the right night yes there's music. More than once we went out of our way for burgers with green chiles.

When we are passing through we will stop in for a bite and a brew, Or sometimes we will just drive the 37 miles (45 minutes) just for the food and atmosphere.

This is the only place in town for dinner so you just have to take it as it comes. I had one really good meal here and one ok meal. Service was slow one night and fast the other. Very friendly atmosphere. All types of clientele: families, tourists, locals. Good margaritas.

Lunch visit. Roaring fireplace with oak & pinion wood (it was a cold day). Built in 1918, it looks every bit of that. This is actually a saloon, not a bar. Food was a tad slow, but this is not the city. Friendly staff. Very clean restroom, considering the age. Décor consists of various artifacts tacked on the wall such as vintage long guns and hunting trophies. Hand carved bar stools simply made out of hacked wood. Tinned ceiling. Doubt any reproductions anywhere here. They serve Angus burger, done your way, to perfection. Husband said that the grilled ham and cheese was one of the best that he has ever eaten. Fries are worth the drive, alone. Prices are reasonable. Enjoyed this very much.Be sure to pronounce Jemez as HAY-MAS---otherwise they will know that you are a tourista! Like you can hide the beemer.Cannot address the alcoholic choices.

We never miss Los Ojos and drive well out of our way to get here. Great food and good beer selection, super hosts and the unmatched warm atmosphere make this place a must.

My husband and I live in Albuquerque and have a cabin in Jemez Springs. When we are up there on the weekend, we love to drive in to have dinner at Los Ojos. The owner is very friendly and helpful. He makes sure everyone is having a good time. We love the old timey atmosphere and collections of stuff. There is a lot to look at. Los Ojos serves an excellent prime rib on Friday nights for a great price. My husband and I usually share the meal and get dessert too. It's enough food for the two of us.If you find yourself in Jemez Springs, New Mexico, treat yourselves to a drink or a meal at Los Ojos.

I love Jemez Springs. I've lived in Albuquerque and Santa fe and I still don't pass up a chance to head to Jemez Springs to soak in some wild hot springs and get green chile cheese fries and burgers at one of the best "divey" cowboy bars in New Mexico. Los Ojos is so rustic you almost aren't sure of the place until your eyes adjust and you realize, "No, this is COOL." I love going there and I look forward to going on a weekend for the live music they typically have. I also love bringing out of town guests up there to enjoy some authentic New Mexican experiences.

My first visit was eight years ago on the way back from the hot springs --and it hasn't changed (except for an upgrade on the bathrooms!) Friendly local folks, decent food, pool tables and an eclectic decor. Occasional local musicians just add to the fun. Be real, and you'll have a great time! KB

Bartender was very friendly and attentive. Patrons were mostly local and very eclectic. Enjoyed our visit there. Ended up being a turning point in our trip.

This is a restaurant, bar, and local attraction that is not only rustic, but affordable with a comfortable atmosphere. You may dine upstairs where you can get a breathtaking view of the Jemez Mountains and local businesses, or eat in one of the other dining areas inside. The staff is local and well informed on the latest "news" of the area, as well as affable and friendly. While you wait for you lunch/dinner to be served, wander through the restaurant and read all the signs, posters, and banners collected throughout the years. It's a fun place for all ages, and the food is very good.
