The owners welcome you and make you feel like family as soon as you walk in the door. We chatted while we tasted several wines. We enjoyed a glass of wine with our picnic lunch on the patio. They cleaned off the table and moved the cats off the patio, so that we could enjoy our lunch. Wines are good and view is amazing.

This past Saturday May 3, my family and I drove from Tucson to Sherman to just sample and buy their wine, especially the Born in Space varietal. For those of you who may not know, the term "Born in Space" refers to those of us who were born in Santa Rita New Mexico, which was consumed by the Chino Copper Pit. While the town hasn't existed since the mid 50's, David and Esperanza have created an unique red wine to commemorate the town. Esperanza, as well as I, was "born in Space".We loved the warm welcome from David and Esperanza and very much enjoyed sampling their delicious wines. Of course had to bring a couple bottles of the Born in Space offering as well as a couple others.If you are ever even close to Sherman New Mexico I highly recommend you take the time to stop at La Esperanza winery, visit with David and Esperanza, and sample their wonderful wines.

It is a small winery. The owners have a passion for the land and making wine. Have a glass of wine on the porch.

David and Esperanza will make you feel like family and the view will make you feel like you are in Tuscany. The Merlot alone will be worth the drive, but don't miss out on their special events - star gazing with the local astronomy club (what's better than good company, excellent wines and the beautiful night sky of the Mimbres Valley?!); the Christmas gathering involves supporting the local food pantry, but DO NOT MISS Esperanza's biscochitos and the posole. We look forward to being there this year to help with the harvest.

As you arrive, you will be welcomed by rows of grapevines and gated drive leading up to the historic family homesite and wine tasting room. When you meet David and Esperanza, the owners, you will feel right at home! Enjoy tasting their award winning wines!! Purchase a glass of wine to enjoy on their tree shaded deck overlooking the hills and valleys of the area. Sit for a spell, relax, enjoy good conversation, and create a beautiful memory!! It is well worth the trip!
