One of the best golf courses in Minnesota ... in terrific shape and very true, fast greens. Terrific bar/restaraunt in the clubhouse ... much better than those at the nearby casino.
Course was in great shape, is very challenging, and walkable. Beware of gnats that hatch in July, and bring along special gnat spray as regular bug spray does not help. The flat plains don't block the wind, so that can add to the challenge.
This golf course is always in excellent condition. Greens are fast and true. Lots of sand in the bunkers. Staff is wonderful as is the Wabasha Creek restaurant at the clubhouse. Don't bother with the buffet at the casino or the restaurant at the casino. The buffet is marginal and the restaurant OK, but the food and staff at the Wabasha Creek venue are great. One of the best maintained golf courses we have played anywhere. We typically stay in the RV park and get a shuttle to and from the golf course. The worst part of the day is if the "grumpy" shuttle driver is working that day.
Did the Stay & Play package last week, golfed the course twice. Our group ranged from 1 to 20 handicaps and everyone had a great time. Course is challenging and we lost a few balls, but its not so hard that you are constantly frustrated. Women's tee placement was generous, but greens were challenging. There was not much wind on the days we were there, which definitely helped our games. Clubhouse is nice, food was good and service was fast... a lot less smokey than the casino. We'll be back next year!
We golfed this course in September and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. It will make you take out different clubs and challenge your playing skills.
Prarie links with a lake and a nice creek/river running thru the golf course. Superb bent grass tees/fairways and greens. If youv'e not played a Reese Jones designed course, play this one and you will know why his courses get great reviews. This is one of the best courses I've played in the US. We stayed @ the casino and payed $75/person for golf, breakfast and lodging. Hard to beat that!
