My wife and I walk the area frequently. Saturday mornings you can walk right over to the local Farmers market. Lots of good restaurants right around the river. And the falls are a great photo opportunity. Make sure to cross the street and visit the Garden. You will cross one of the oldest bridges in the state that the city has preserved and put up a nice historical plaque.

Walking around the greenbelt, it is approx. 2.4 miles of enjoyable sights. Ducks, geese, the Snake River, trees, rocks and more will steal your eyes. It's beautiful in the winter with the snow formed around the rocks in the river & the ice formations. The summer brings green trees, birds and lots of water falling over the "falls".

Stayed at the Best Western just recently, and got to enjoy the Greenbelt across the street. I have heard of the 'Falls' from others who have been here before me, and was glad to have finally experienced this park area in the city. Enjoyed reading tidbits of the city's history, which prompted me to look up wikipedia for more answers and info. Excellent walk along the river in the evening.

I love to go to the Greenbelt to walk my dog or for a destination bike ride. There are a lot of options depending on the distance you want to travel. Check out the Idaho Falls City website (listed) for details of places to see and distances. One of my favorite areas is by the 'Rock Garden' off the Pancheri Bridge. They are continuing to work on this area. The smaller loop is just about a mile and a half. Also walking in the Snake River Landing area across Pancheri is nice too. The falls near the Broadway bridge and the Taylor toll bridge replica are nice to check out. Also the Farmer's Market is here May - October. Thanks to the mild winter even now is even a good time to go, just bundle up.

It's nice to live in a town or visit a town that has a river walk. San Antonio and Albuquerque are two towns where I lived and spent a lot of time enjoying their river walks, and Idaho Falls is the same. A nice place to have a picnic, a walk or just relax on the lawn.

plenty of parking, 100% paved, lots of scenery by the river. A very nice place to spend an hour or two. Great for picnics, fishing, and bike riding, too.

Greenway walking path ending at the edge of main town with Japanese Garden, picnic tables. Many water birds--I walked right through a flock of geese.

This is a nice place to go for a walk, jog, or run. There are plenty of places to take nice pictures as well. One of my favorite places in Idaho Falls!

Can't quite call them a waterfall, but the water does fall about 8 feet from the manmade dam. The view coming through the town is a very nice and scenic place and was worth the stop and walk through it on our way to Rexburg. And there is quite a nice view of the Mormon Temple from the falls viewing area for photos.

Part of this walkway started just steps out the door of our hotel. We took about 30 minutes and walked down around a little Japanese garden area, then across the street and down the west side of the river. It was so beautiful and well maintained. We are glad we took the time to have a little leisure time and see the wonderful surroundings. The city of Idaho Falls has done a great job with this area.

We stayed in Idaho Falls overnight. The hotel was a short walk to the Falls. Well worth an early evening stroll along the the river through the park area just looking at the Falls.

We drove from West Yellowstone to Jackson and decided to drive via Idaho Falls just to see some of the countryside. We stopped in to have lunch and then decided to take a walk around the falls. It's a very pretty walk but don't expect a waterfall. It's something the city built to get hydroelectric energy. Don't let that dissuade you though, it is worth the time to take a walk around. The water is very pretty and clear ( we saw one guy by the water catching fish with his hands) and it is landscaped very nicely. There are some fun benches to sit on as you go along the path. One was shaped like a horse. Where the water goes over the falls is an overlook where you can stand and watch and a favorite place for the ducks to congregate. We were there in the fall and the leaves and flowers were gorgeous. Also there is a large white church in the distance that is very pretty against the blue sky.

My wife and I were staying at the Residence Inn right next to this walking path. We decided to take a stroll along the river. It's a simple walking path, the grade is almost completely flat. The views are amazing. We stopped to take pictures of the cascading Idaho Falls. We also really enjoyed how the river served as a reflecting pool for the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. There are fun little signs that give historical facts are facts about the wildlife you can see. We saw lots of ducks, geese, and squirrels. According to the signs you can occasionally see deer or moose as well, but we were not favored to spot either of those. There are also little statues and sculptures along the path, which are a fun little added bonus. If you have some time, it's definitely worth taking a stroll along this path. The cool evening air and the beautiful views were just what I needed to wind down.

The snake river greenbelt is a favorite for locals to get some exercise. It passes by downtown if you want to stop and shop or eat. The walk around the loop, over the river and down the other side is scenic and peaceful.
