Best way to see the cumberland river. Captian Jesse is very nice and cool. Had alot of fun on this cruise. Seen lots of birds. Bats and a snake
Very relaxing cruise with Captain Jesse on the Cumberland River. Enjoyed the narrative trip, wild life, and beautiful views. He timed our trip perfectly so that we could view gray bats as they exited a cave. An added bonus is you also get to see one of Reba's beautiful homes - up close! I would also recommend eating at Cherokee Steak House before or after your cruise (It's in the same parking lot). Amazing steak!
We decided to do this as a surprise bday trip for our 18yr old. Bought a deal from Groupon and decided to give it a try and I'm so glad we did. We had a party of 8 that went and the youngest was a 10 year old. We all enjoyed it so much. We done the July 5th river cruise with fireworks at the end, that last 3 hours. The weather was perfect and Captain Jesse and the woman helping him were awesome and very informative! It was not just a river cruise, we saw so many things from houses to animals, beautiful sunsets, and a beautiful fireworks show at the end. Everyone out on the river were very nice and seemed to know Captain Jesse real well. Everyone on the cruise same to really enjoy it and it felt like a big family family gathering out on the lake, we took each others pictures and even shared our food. ( Because it was the July fireworks cruise we could carry snacks and drinks on the boat and the the cruise last longer for those special events but it also cost us $10.00 a piece more. Well worth it though). I would rather do something like this with the family in July instead of buying a bunch of fireworks to shoot. Myself and my family plan to do this again because we had such a good time. Keep up the good work Captain Jesse!
Ok so this isn't a Carnival Cruise...but it never claimed to be and this boat didn't catch on fire while 'out to sea' =) This was our 5 year anniversary, we had just eaten at the Cherokee Steakhouse and, on this particular night, the weather was AWESOME for July! We didn't get to see a lot of wildlife except 1 little raccoon running along the rocks. We did see a few bats near the 'Bat Cave' but they ARE black and it was night time so.... The sunset was beautiful and you meet a lot of nice folks on the boat. The price is $20 per person. While I don't think it was really worth $20 per person, it's definitely worth it if you have a BOGO coupon (there's one in the Entertainment Book for Nashville).
We took a sunset cruise and, fortunately, the weather was perfect and the sunset magnificent. We took a small soft cooler on board and enjoyed a glass of wine while we boated through Old Hickory Lake and the Cumberland River .There wasn't a lot of action at the 'bat cave' but the narration along the way was great and we are looking forward to taking a 'Fall Colors' cruise later this year.
My husband and I purchased a Groupon for the boat cruise and it was so worth the hour drive it took from our hotel. Captain Jesse did a great job and giving us information on the river, give us plenty of time for photos, and even stayed out later so we could watch the fireworks on the 4th!!
The only problem was that Lu (very nice First Mate) spent a lot of time entertaining restless children on board, kind of took away from our experience. She should have had to be the babysitter when the parents were right there.
We had a fun experience on the Home tour with Captain Jesse. Viewed many species of birds and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon on Old Hickory Lake. Saw many beautiful mansions from the shoreline and would like to do the nature or bat tour next time.
Took the tour from Granville during their Fall Festival. My family and I really enjoyed the ride with Captain Jessie. A bit of history, beautiful scenery, relaxing ride. We are planning on checking out his Old Hickory tour boad tour. The Granville tour was 20.00 a head for an 11/2 ride.
The Cumberland is one of the prettiest rivers in America, starting above Cumberland Falls in Kentucky and eventually reaching the Ohio River near the site of Ft. Massac on the opposite bank. Take the time to enjoy an excursion on the section of river near Nashville and all its historical and recreational sites.
Some friends and I took the fireworks cruise last evening with Captain Jesse and the word FUN doesn’t even begin to describe it. Lou Anne, our hostess, was so cute and hospitable. She was adorably animated… completely in sync with everything Captain Jesse said. She made sure our glasses were filled, helped us organize and set up our snacks, passed the napkins around and when one friend jokingly asked for nuts, she produced a jar. We were well taken care of. Captain Jesse was knowledgeable on just about everything from birds, yachts; former country stars homes, history of the lake and had some great stories about some of the other homeowners. A natural-born Captain, he navigated both the water and his “cruisers” with ease. We were more than impressed with the fireworks and the tour. We will definitely be back.
We just moved to Murfreesboro and decided to do something special to celebrate my mom's birthday as she was visiting. Captain Jesse took us out at dusk and what a treat that was! My fiance, my mom and I had such a wonderful evening. Captain pointed out tons of birds, provided us with binoculars and turned off the engine a few times so we could hear the sounds of nature. On our way back he brought us by a cave and we saw hundreds of bats emerge out of the darkness and start a journey away from the river. We truly enjoyed Captain Jesse's friendliness and knowledge. Really looking forward to another cruise aboard his vessel in the near future!!
Our Cumberland River Cruise was so much fun and very relaxing. Capt. Jesse & his first mate were very accommodating in helping my 80 year old mother come aboard and disembark at the end of the cruise - since she walks with the aid of a rolling walker, we were concerned that she might not be able to board the boat. but the crew made sure it wasn't an issue. Capt. Jesse was very informative about all the landmarks, wildlife and lovely homes we passed during the cruise, and his use of a microphone for his commentary ensured everyone in the boat could hear him clearly. Although this is pontoon boat, there is a bathroom aboard, and water and soft drinks are available for purchase during the cruise. This cruise is very affordable and well worth the cost ~ I would recommend it to anyone!!!
