My 8 year old son and I went on a part day trip. The staff was very laid back and knowledgeable and fun. We both had a great experience white water rafting through the fresh snow melted creek! It was a good one for beginners. It wasn't too easy, but wasn't too scary either. Definitely glad we did this, and would certainly do it again.
Fantastic experience for the family (youngest 14). The owner Bruce is very accomidating and they are very good on explaining the important safety issues. They have photographers along the way and offer that up as an additional purchase after the trip. The photos were great and well worth it (good job Sarah). They offer a place to change in their facility as well. Our guide Alex was great, and was able to keep us all in the raft while going down Clear Creak. He pointed out areas of interest and had some great stories. I would highly recommend him if you have the opportunity.Lastly, the town of Morrison is a great place to hang out post rafting trip. Red Rocks is right there as well if you are looking for an additional place to see.
My family, ranging in age from 11 to 71, arranged a rafting trip with Geo Tours. They carefully explained the safety procedures and made sure everyone understood before we got into the boats. The river was high and fast this year, so the trip was very exciting! Thanks to the instructions we got beforehand no one fell out and everyone had a wonderful time. Chris, the guide in my boat, was conscientious and a lot of fun. I will definitely go back to Geo Tours next time I visit Colorado - will probably try a more advanced course next time, but the beginner course was perfect for our group.
Our group was from Denver so this was a very easy place to get to for all of us. Their office is located in Morrison which has a fantastic view of Red Rocks. This was the first time for half of our group of 6 rafting. We thought that a beginner run would be boring, but not with how fast the water was rushing due to the huge amount of snow this past winter. Everyone had a fantastic time and felt safe although we did have some moments where people almost flew over the raft but they do a good job explaining safety and what to do if you fall out. Even the more advanced and experienced paddlers in our group felt this was pretty exhilarating. The only downside to this company is because due to safety concerns of people more focused on the camera than paying attention to the river, they do not allow GoPros. We didn't have one so it didn't really affect us. you can buy a DVD of photos after you get back. Overall, great experience, we will likely use them again!
Mountain Lion rafting trip (grades I - III). We will definitely do this again but go a little more difficult. Our guide, Cliff, made it fun and I think it was worth the money. If you are sensitive to cold water, definitely get the complete wetsuit (to cover your arms, too). I froze a bit when the sun went behind some clouds. Good fun...my cheeks were hurting from all the smiles and laughter.
